Mrt 3 2015 Gepost door Samantha Marsh

Luxury glamping across the UK and France

As Easter arrives and the outdoor accommodation season bursts into life, outdoor accommodation specialist Pitchup.com has selected some of its favourite ideas for an Easter break for all, whether it’s with the family, friends or as a couple.

Mettingham Castle Lodge and Castleview Vacations – From £210

The medieval glamping tents at Mettingham Castle Lodge have castle views and are set in a peaceful location close to the pretty Suffolk town of Bungay. The Dussindale tent has a comfortable double bed and futons, a woodburner, chest and side cabinet, a basic kitchen and tableware, and outdoor seating on private decking with a gas barbecue. The local town is home to seven pubs, one with its own micro brewery and one with a medieval banqueting hall. The site is just 16 miles from the seaside town of Southwold with its sand and shingle beach, amusement pier, putting greens and boating ponds - making it the perfect option for a family day out. Visitors can also learn to sail or canoe at Oulton Broad Water Sports Centre. A three-night break this Easter starts from £210-240.  This price is based on two people sharing.

Camping BelleRive – From £121

Situated in the village of Montfrin in the beautiful region of Provence in the south of France, this site is quiet and hidden among heavily-wooded land along the banks of the Gardon river. The chalets for hire feature one double bedroom and a mezzanine bedroom with two single beds. There is also a fully-equipped kitchen with sink and electric hob, dining area and a terrace. On site there is a snack bar and the owners also run various themed nights to keep guests entertained. There is wifi available at a small daily rate for those who want to keep in touch with the world but for those in need of some respite, the sights of Provençal France are there to be enjoyed.

Off site you can visit a Roman amphitheatre or medieval castle, see the wildlife in the natural marshes of the Camargues, try racing on the Circuit de Lédenon, or go kayaking on the river. For a three-night break this Easter prices start from £121 for a two-bedroom standard chalet, £149 for a two-bedroom comfort chalet and for something a little different, why not try the safari tent lodge for £187? These prices are based on two sharing.

Drumshademuir Caravan Park - From £120

Famed for its castles, glens, and the camera obscura, there is plenty of history and scenery to take in to keep families busy over Easter, and for those who want to work off all that chocolate, a hike in the surrounding Cairngorm National Park is a must...As Easter falls early this year there may even be a chance to do some skiing on the mountains!

Drumshademuir Caravan Park offers pod accommodation over Easter from only £120 for a three-night stay. The pods come with beds, seating and a table but visitors will need to bring their own equipment and bedding. Pods sleep four.
