Rhea Farm and Fishery

Ik was blij met We've just returned from a lovely 3 nights at Rhea Farm and fishery. There are 4 of us (2 adults and 13yr old, 16 yr old). This is a campsite with a difference. Lisa and Andy really go the extra mile to make sure visitors are happy and their energy is contagious. The site is a quiet site, yet on a Saturday night everyone is invited to free pizza, crisps and drinks at the 'party bus'. There is a bus where darts, pool, table tennis (maybe take your own balls) and card games are available if it's raining or kids need some entertaining. The tent pitch we had was probably the flattest we've ever had camping and there was a good choice of pitches with lots of space. We were lucky enough to get a picnic table. Showers were hot and we never had to queue for toilets or showers, although it was a quiet weekend. We tried fishing as a family, which we'd never done before and, after hiring rods etc, we had lots of advice from Andy, Lisa and nearby fishermen to get going. The lake is well stocked so it was a great place to learn. My son loved the fishing and our daughter loved going off on the golf cart with Lisa for the morning animal feeding. If you're a light sleeper perhaps take some ear plugs, as the peacocks, ostrich and emus (think it was them) create an interesting dawn chorus-not that it really bothered us! Although it's not next to a beach, it's not far in the car to local beaches. We swam at Beer beach a couple of days and also had a good lunch at the (free) Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth. Overall a really lovely campsite and we will definitely be back.

Ik was blij met We loved the chilled holiday! The host doing the animal feeding was so patient and had all the time to let the kids ask questions, meet all the animals and go at their speed!

Ik was blij met Back to basics, clean toilets and showers. Lots of hot water. Friendly owners. Plenty of space. Free pizza and drinks on a Saturday night. Animal feeding every morning.

Ik was blij met This was our 2nd visit to Rhea and will definitely be returning later in the year. The owners are super friendly, the kids absolutely loved the morning animal feeds and had a great days fishing in the well stocked lake. Fantastic campsite !!!

Ik was blij met The Hosts were super friendly, loved chatting with them! Loved all the animals too. The games area was great fun and the lake was gorgeous. Had such a fab time that we will be back again.

Ik was blij met Very much liked our stay at Rhea Farm with extended family. The site was a lot bigger than I thought, the grass well kept and good pitches, some shady, some sunny, some pitches on the flat and some on slightly sloped ground. The site is off the grid although you can use solar panels and also they provide lockable baskets where you can charge your phones etc, take a small padlock. The toilets and showers were basic but clean and most people on the site appeared to be respect each others space, i.e. no late night music etc. The hosts offered a good nights entertainment on the Bank Holiday weekend, i.e. Saturday which included Pizza, crisps, home made wine which was very nice and a bit of music. This started at 4.30 and ended at 8.30 and was good fun. There are a number of animals kept and looked after on site and it took me back to the days when I use to go on on caravan holidays with my mum and dad on farm sites. The village of Killmington is a very short walk away and is worthy of a good look round and does include a pub, The New Inn. Enjoyable weekend and found the owners to be very friendly and helpful.
