Sea, surf and spectacular views – the deal at Sandy Acres Campsite sounds pretty good already, right? But there’s another element that might make it extra sweet, and that’s its dog-friendly nature. Four-legged guests (on a lead) are welcome – and not just on site, but also at the nearby beach, a vast expanse of golden sand also named Sandy Acres (five minutes’ walk, just beyond the Hayle Sand Dunes). As well as its splendid and convenient location, this pleasant site has a relaxed, low-key vibe. That doesn’t mean, however, that there are no perks here. True, there is no electric hook-up (though the owners will be happy to charge your mobile phone in the office), but there are several toilets, hot-water showers and a washing-up area (no hot water there, though). And while there's no fridge to store your grillable items, there is a freezer for your ice packs, plus a small café serving drinks and smoothies. For anything else, the nearest shop is just under a mile away, or you can head into Hayle town (10 minutes’ drive) for supermarkets, restaurants and pubs. With the practical aspects of your holiday taken care of, all you need to do is relax and take advantage of the site’s facilities, which include a surf school (catering to all levels) and equipment hire (from bodyboards and surfboards to wetsuits), plus yoga sessions, which take place on the beach (or in a wooden hut if the weather takes a turn).

Deze camping ligt prachtig, vlakbij een surfstrand en duinen. Gasten prijzen de strandnabijheid, het uitzicht en de rust. Faciliteiten zijn schoon en goed onderhouden. Douchewater is vaak warm. Ik was blij met This site was just perfect. It had everything. Hot showers. Clean toilets.
I loved the position of the site. A short walk to the beach. Perfect little cafe. Loved all your signs( someone has lovely handwriting!) it was quiet, peaceful. Loved loved it!

Ik was blij met Quiet relaxed site. Not too many pitches. Brilliant location and we loved that there was access to the beach.
Toilets and showers were always clean.

Ik was niet blij met Had to hold the button in continually to get water in the shower.

Ik was blij met A beautiful campsite tucked behind a couple of sand dunes. The staff are super helpful. The facilities were spotless- we were lucky and managed to always get a hot shower. Check in was super easy. Was a busy site being used by lots of other families with small children which was brilliant for my 3 children. Pitches are HUGE- can easily fit a long tent and a shelter/gazebo and car.

Ik was blij met Big campsites, could keep car beside tent. Close walk to beach. Showers/toilets very good. Kids at shop were very nice. Not bad walk to bus stop/town either.

Sanitäranlagen ok

Ik was niet blij met Wir hatten leider Pech mit dem Stellplatz. Direkt beim Eingang und den Sanitäranlagen und sehr laute Nachbarn
Es gibt wenig "Abgrenzung" zum Nachbarn.

Ik was blij met Wow, what a campsite. We stayed here by accident because our friends live nearby. Very relaxed site. Great access onto the beach, although it is a steep track down. If you want an evening meal & don't want to drive, you can walk along the coastal path for 10 minutes to the next holiday park. There is also a very nice cafe, on the way to the beach.

Ik was niet blij met The roof on the toilets is clear corrugated plastic, which is fine at night, but makes the toilets and showers very hot during the day.

On the outskirts of Hayle, Paradise Park and JungleBarn Cornwall (10 minutes’ drive) is home to small mammals such as otters and red pandas, plus dozens of species of birds, including colourful parrots, flamingoes and a penguin colony. If birding is your jam, continue on to RSPB Hayle Estuary (10 minutes), inhabited by wetland birds. In St Ives (20 minutes by car, or take a 25-minute train ride from Hayle), the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden and Tate St Ives (the latter overlooking sandy Porthmeor Beach) ought to satisfy your art cravings. Then take a stroll through the town’s cobbled streets or along the harbour, stopping for ice cream or fish and chips. Head west to Porthcurno (35 minutes), where the Minack Theatre puts on plays and concerts in a most spectacular setting. The seating is carved right out of the granite cliff, and the stage has the waters of Porthcurno Bay as its dramatic backdrop.
