Deze camping heeft een fantastische ligging met prachtig meerzicht en makkelijke wandeltoegang tot Bowness-on-Windermere. Gasten waardeerden de rustige sfeer en de vriendelijke eigenaar. De plaatsen zijn goed onderhouden en de plek wordt omschreven als een "geweldige schuilplaats", maar sommigen vonden de faciliteiten basic ( Porta-loo's, geen stromend water of afwasmogelijkheden). Eén recensent meldde geluidsoverlast van een nabijgelegen bouwplaats. Het management heeft laten weten dat er drinkwater beschikbaar is op het terrein.

Ik was blij met Not much. Closeness to the lake, restaurants etc I guess (but you wouldn't want to go to restaurants if you couldn't shower)
Ik was niet blij met Expensive for pitching a tent in a field with only portaloos (that smelt) and a tap for amenities, next to a road with vehicle noise AND with a building site behind it (with pile driving before it was even 7.30am). If it seemed close to wild camping or had an amazing view from the tent, I might have forgiven the rest but being next to a road and surrounded by houses with the view from an area that sloped too much for tents, nah!
Oh, and my car got stuck in the mud and fellow campers had to push it out for me, bless them.

Ik was blij met Lovely quiet site, great views and easy to walk down to the town and nearby scenic walks. Very basic. Friendly lady servicing toilets offered to let us have one of the permeant tents there for £35 when we told her our tent was leaking badly.
Ik was niet blij met No sign to show is we were at the right place. Luckily the permanent tents were there so we did have an idea that it was something other than a field.
