For those couples/travelling parties that frequently face disagreement over whose turn it is to be designated driver, there’s really only one sensible solution: bed down right there at the pub. Dozing off at the bar might be considered a little unseemly, so The Old Bush’s owners Matt and Karen have come up with a better solution and set up pitches in the garden area behind their rural Worcestershire pub. Thus guests can partake of dinners accompanied by a few local ales/ciders before strolling home (to a peaceful corner with drinking water, showers and 24-hour toilets) in just a couple of minutes – how civilised. In fact, the whole setup here is rather civilised: The Old Bush is a traditional country pub in the little village of Callow End, with food available at lunch and dinner times, plus a menu of mini meals for smaller guests. On warmer days the merriment spills out into the garden, where there’s a play area, an aviary and a little flock of chickens along with plenty of tables for open-air drinking, dining and admiring the views over the Malvern hills. Of course, one can’t sit around in the pub all day (well, maybe not every day, anyway…), so it’s worth noting that this is also a handy location for walks, horse riding, games of golf, fishing and days out in Worcester and Malvern (both 15 minutes away by car). Handily, if you do ‘accidentally’ sup one too many at lunchtime there’s a bus stop in the village so you can still get out and about.

Goed onderhouden, rustige camping met vriendelijk, behulpzaam personeel. Geweldig pubfood, café en goed gesorteerde winkel. Faciliteiten schoon & modern, ruime, vlakke staanplaatsen met mooi uitzicht. Steile toegangsweg genoemd, maar algehele ervaring zeer positief. Veel aanbevelingen en plannen voor terugkeer.

Ik was blij met Great location, friendly bar staff, great food and value for money. It’s 5 mins off M5 easy to find - great walks to Worcester cathedral and Stanbrook Abbey, now a hotel and dog friendly. You can go in, explore the abbey and have a drink in the bar.

Ik was blij met Lovely peaceful site. Loved the country pub and the very well stocked shop/cafe on site too!

Shower and toilet facilities were clean, modern and well equipped.

Staff friendly and helpful.

Our dog loved watching the beautiful pheasants, budgies and finches in the aviary on site!

Ik was niet blij met Only suggestion would be some lighting on the pathway from pitch to the gate into car park, on darker nights.

Ik was blij met Location was great being just off the M5 and the facilities and setting were excellent. We ate in the pub and found the portions to be large, very tasty and reasonably priced (can’t understand a previous review which said portions were small).
Staff were all really helpful and overall it was a really pleasurable stay.

Work up an appetite for that pub dinner and drinks with walks through grassland, heath and woods in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Beauty (15 minutes’ drive). You can also wander with woolly company from Simply Alpaca (25 minutes), play games of golf (10 minutes) or saddle up for horseback hacks (10 minutes’ walk). Guests with an eye for greenery may like to schedule outings to some of the area’s fine gardens: Spetchley Park Gardens (15 minutes) and Showborough House sculpture garden (20 minutes) are both worth a stop, as are the walled gardens at the National Trust’s Croome Court (20 minutes).
