If you’re looking at the Llŷn Peninsula as a location for a peaceful break, you’ll certainly want to check out Bryn Bach Caravan and Camping Site. This well-kept and friendly site sits at the far end of the peninsula, making it a setting that’s got plenty of peace and quiet to offer. And it’s also got some rather wonderful views – the pitches here look out over Abersoch Bay to the peaks of Eryri (Snowdonia) beyond. You won’t be limited to looking at the sea from afar though, because it’s just a 15-minute walk to either the southern end of Abersoch’s sheltered main beach or the surfing waves of Porth Ceiriad. Beyond both of those there are plenty more lovely beach areas within a short drive, including the three-mile Porth Neigwl (also known as Hell’s Mouth and popular with surfers) and the ‘Whistling Sands’ of Porthor. The site is just off the Wales Coast Path too, so you may like to take a walk and see if you can spot any of the seals and dolphins that live along the coastline. Want to explore in a different way? There are bikes and paddleboards for hire at the site shop. There’s plenty more in that shop, too – it’s always well stocked, and it has a licence to sell alcohol as well. Among the other facilities on site are a launderette, a washing-up area, a communal freezer, a wifi service and a couple of bathroom blocks. There’s also a sand-covered play area with swings, a slide and a climbing frame to keep the kids busy for a while.

Posizione splendida con viste mozzafiato, vicina a spiagge e Abersoch. Personale cordiale, servizi puliti e piazzole curate. Negozio utile. A volte le piazzole sono vicine in alta stagione, e qualche problema con la temperatura della doccia. Tranquillo e ben gestito.

Mi è piaciuto Lovely peaceful site everyone was respectful while we were there and quiet at night. I was camping alone with my kids and I felt safe there.

Non mi è piaciuto The walk to the beach was a bit further than I thought it would be and down a steep hill. So with the kids and all the beach stuff I would have driven down probably if I’d have realised. That’s not really about the site, but just a heads up for others going.

The walk to the end of Abersoch beach is 18 minutes. We provide an illustrated walking map at the office to guests that enquire about local walking routes and always advise that the walk back has a steep section. On the plus side it means we have wonderful sea views at the top of the hill!

Overall a great experience. People camping let them down

Mi è piaciuto The people running it were great when we arrived, directed and showed us to our spot. Shop had loads to buy and was reasonably priced. Toilets and showers were clean throughout our stay. Clear recycling strategy in place too which was good to see

Non mi è piaciuto The only couple of complaints I would have are the showers don’t stay on long enough when pressed and go from boiling to freezing on each press. Also there were some people camping who decided to start flying round on electric bikes

Mi è piaciuto We stayed from Friday evening until Sunday and it was a lovely stay! The site is really friendly and has everything that you need. Park for the children and a little shop that has everything that you might need. The toilet and shower facilities are clean and always tidy. We would highly recommend people booking and would 100% book again if we visit Abersoch in the future.

Mi è piaciuto Absolutely everything - checking in was super friendly and easy, pitch was lovely with amazing views and I could easily see the play area for my little boy - bonus! I have to mention that the service on site was second to none. My little boy had an accident on the beach and needed first aid assistance which was administered quickly by the site owners, who...were beyond helpful, extremely patient and very, very kind. (My little boy actually broke his finger and required surgery a few days later) I stayed just myself (single mum) and my little boy (6) for 2 nights, and we would absolutely recommend! His favourite aspect was the shop, I cannot lie, but everything was fantastic. Washing up area, toilets, showers - everything!!

Mi è piaciuto Very friendly site manager who was very accommodating trying to arrange a different field for us to stay in on arrival,
Shop was very good,
Laundry room,
Liked the toilet and shower in same room,
Very clean facilities, and grass kept nice, lovely play park for the children,
Very nice view from site,
Lovely walk to Abersoch town down through the beach or Golf course
Also a lovely walk down to Ceiriad beach in the other direction

Non mi è piaciuto Not enough toilets to accommodate the amount of campers, periodically waited for a toilet to be free in both facilities blocks. Showers were hit and miss in the one block, either too hot or cold.
We stayed in the electric field but in the middle (non hook up section) it was over crowded. We felt we were too close to our neighbour and felt we needed to apologise for being too close to them and blocking their view, and the following camper felt he needed to apologise to us for being too close also. One tent was about 7/8 foot from us and he was about 6 foot from the next! Certainly don't practice their fire break rule as stated on their notice board, bearing in mind the manager showed us all to our pitches and told us where to pitch. We felt penned in and left a day early.

There’s almost too much choice around here when it comes to excellent beaches, but you may like to check out top spots like Abersoch (five minutes’ drive), with its watersports and sea-view golf course, or take your surfboard to the reliable waves at three-mile-long Porth Neigwl (Hell’s Mouth) (10 minutes). A walk on the ‘Whistling Sands’ at Porthor beach is a must – as is a pint with your toes in the sand at Porthdinllaen’sTŷ Coch Inn. Both are half an hour’s drive away. Meanwhile, there are boat trips to Bardsey Island from Porth Meudwy (35 minutes) or you can take a walk to Y Dyn Haearn (Tin Man), a sculpture looking out to sea at Llanbedrog (15 minutes). Something a bit different? See modern art in a Gothic mansion at Plas Glyn y Weddw Gallery (15 minutes), meet cute animals – not just rabbits – at Rabbit Farm (half an hour) or step back into the past at Criccieth Castle (35 minutes). There are also lots of indoor and outdoor activities at Glasfryn Parc (half an hour).
