Down on the Farm

Mi è piaciuto Loads of space to chose where to camp. Fantastic cafe and animals to interact with. The kids enjoyed the play barn and vehicles. The toilets and showers were fab too!

Non mi è piaciuto The pond/lake could do with some of the surface scum/algae removing?

Mi è piaciuto Very spacious, very quiet site which was lovely. Having the farm animals was lovely, and facilities very clean and inviting. Beautiful cafe onsite too.

Non mi è piaciuto Not very obvious how to check in after cafe closes but other than that, no issues.

Mi è piaciuto Really warm welcome after we decided where to put the van (it was one of the right places). We had booked the fire pit so were given a v generous load of kindling, logs and fire lighters. Great to cook over, with a built in side winding grill.
Very open site, in development still.
Wash area v comfortable.
Great place for small children plus dog on lead friendly.

Non mi è piaciuto You can hear a road nearby, at night, if you are noise sensitive. If you are a city person you’d think it was all silent!

Mi è piaciuto Staff were excellent, nothing too much trouble, always helpful, friendly and smiling! The play barn was fantastic, my kids were very happy to spend the whole time there if they could have. Lovely spacious pitch too.

Non mi è piaciuto Whilst the showers were really nicely done, there are only 2 so could be a bit of a queue in the morning especially when getting all the kids sorted. Only one sink for washing up and its outside, could do with another one at least.

Mi è piaciuto A lovely campsite, small enough you had your own space and the contact with the owners felt personal, but a generous sized campsite with a lovely family atmosphere during busy weekends. Perfect for taking little ones away, with plenty to keep them entertained, including seeing the animals and playing in the play barn. The cafe was also a welcomed escape during heavy rain, with a big space, indoor play section and plenty of food and drink on offer. Not that we watched it but there is also a big screen in the cafe, which creates a nice homely feel and can imagine it being popular when sporting matches are on! The friendly owners really made the stay - nothing was too much bother and you can tell how much love and hard work has gone into the campsite. Will definitely be returning and recommend to anyone looking for a family friendly campsite in beautiful surroundings.

Non mi è piaciuto Was not a problem for us but can imagine if the campsite continues to grow in popularity, the number of bathrooms may cause queuing.

Mi è piaciuto The whole family loved our stay, the owners were so friendly and welcoming. The pitch was great and the facilities were good. The cafe was very reasonably priced for food and drinks and stayed open late due to it being the weekend. The barn was perfect for our children, especially when it rained as its undercover. They had the best time and played with lots of the other children.

Non mi è piaciuto Not a dislike but suggestions:
- more paths to the pitches so feet don't get covered in grass
- the shower was a bit leaky so the floors were very wet/ grassy
- although we didn't have to queue with there only being 2 showers not sure if this would get busy at peak times
- greater variety of food in the cafe

Mi è piaciuto Everyone is very friendly and welcoming Pitches are clean and spacious, facilities very clean well presented and the animals are an added treat!!! Site is very quiet at night and super relaxing in the day. Definitely will be returning

Mi è piaciuto Lovely spacious pitches enabling any layout of tents if there are a few of you. We were a group of couples, a 12 month old and 4 dogs and had a fabulous stay (despite the great British weather). Facilities are very clean and any issues were addressed straight away. The cafe is a great hub for poor weather and offers lots of food and drinks options. The farm animals/play barn are a fab addition. The owners are super friendly and we hope to return in the future!

Mi è piaciuto Large pitch with excellent provision of electricity and water. The staff are friendly and helpful. The views on the campsite and great. This site has potential…

Non mi è piaciuto The entrance into the farm and campsite was underwhelming - it’s quite simply messy and a bit of a dumping ground that doesn’t offer confidence of due care as you drive up to the reception area. .. I’d suggest hedging or some way to block off the building rubble or rusting farm equipment.

Cleanliness of showers was dubious - the cubicles are cleaned but not fully… corners are dirty. It’s sort of like the cleaning was done as quickly as possible rather than properly.

The cattle on site in a barn were in a very poor order, the barn was filthy and it really smelled, and the smell permeated to our pitch and beyond. I am unsure if guests ought to have been allowed close contact due to ringworm.

The poor goats seemed to be kept in a small pen all the time, this was sad.

Mi è piaciuto We really enjoyed our stay! Two adults, three children and a dog. We often struggle to find a large enough pitch but this was perfect, parking next to your pitch too.
Peaceful setting with a lovely family owned feel. The cafe on site is a great bonus, we enjoyed pizza on our first night.
There is a play barn for a small fee for younger children or some outdoor games, goals for older children. Ours rode their bikes around, plenty of room to do so.
We had no problems during our stay but I saw the chap running it, sorting things and helping people - nothing was too much trouble.
WiFi didn’t reach our pitch - but for us that wasn’t a bad thing! We came for the countryside.
Easy drive to Malmesbury and Tetbury.
