Camping @ Croyde Bay

Mi è piaciuto Quiet and friendly site. I was welcomed and I found it reassuring that the gates are locked at night (you can get out in an emergency). Level pitches and clean facilities, freezer and microwave available to use for free. Great location too. Short walk both to Croyde village and to the beach.

Mi è piaciuto Lovely site. Small but plenty of space. Lots of amenities on site including free eclectic in reception for charging, freezers and sponges and dish soap for free.

Well maintained and very clean facilities. Young lady who works on site was really helpful on arrival and polite.

The wild rabbits are nice to see roaming the site too.
Walk to the beach isn’t far. Follow the road and it’s right there. 10 minutes if that. Beach itself is lovely too and worth visiting.

Some pitches are directly off the road and traffic and people can be heard but not really a problem. Majority is likely people leaving the beach in the evening.

Mi è piaciuto Perfect location, easy walk to Croyde and the beach. Very even pitch, friendly, quiet and excellent, plentiful facilities.

Non mi è piaciuto Would have liked to have invited two friends who were camping nearby to join me for a cup of tea so no guest policy is a bit restrictive.

Thank you for your 10 out of 10 review. We don't permit random, unknown visitors for security reasons and to maintain a quiet environment. However, we offer "day tickets" for visitors at almost no cost. I will make sure this is better publicised.

Mi è piaciuto Nice quiet site, plenty of space on the pitch, toilets and shower areas clean, tidy and pleasant to use.

Non mi è piaciuto Not really a dislike but the wifi seemed a bit patchy but that could have just been my tablet.

Mi è piaciuto Well kept site with clean facilities and nice hot showers. The addition of family showers were also a nice touch.
Excellent location.

Non mi è piaciuto Only minor, but the £5 early check-in and check-out seems a little unnecessary when out of season and the site less than 50% full.

We need to have a system or time frame whereby people can check in, and others must sadly leave. In the past, we became a free beach car park with luxury showers on tap. As you highlighted, it's a nominal fee if people prefer to arrive very early or stay much longer. We didn't bring this in as a money-making scheme, far from it. This was a customer recommendation and has become a very popular way to enjoy our great site and facilities longer, either on arrival or departure day. For context, a family of 4 can elect to stay on their pitch until 6 pm on departure day for just £10.00, giving them an extra day at the beach whilst avoiding the traffic.

Mi è piaciuto A lovely site at the top of the road. Grass is lovely and soft. The site has levelled tiers to camp on.
A lovely toilet block with individual showers, and two family showers, toilets, washing up area and outside shower to rinse off if you’ve been in the sea.
Surf and body boards to hire. And most of the tent pitches have electric hook up if required. I didn’t need as only stayed two nights. Also free WiFi which was great.
In reception there is a microwave and a coffee/tea hot chocolate machine (extra charge) this closes at 8pm not 9 as stated on the post. But a great find.

Non mi è piaciuto I had paid for a late check out from standard 10:30 to 12 (£5)
This was my first trip in my campervan I wanted the late checkout as we had been getting rain during the night and wanted my storage tent to dry out. And didn’t realise how long it would take to pack up.

The site was fairly empty. But the owner wasn’t happy that I was running late to pack up. Hinting did I want to pay another £5 to stay to 6pm. Which I didn’t. I was just over half an hour late leaving and was made to feel very rushed.
Unlike most of the other sites I visited on my ten day trip. I felt this was a bit of a downer in my experience.

We offer late check out at very affordable rates and it's very popular. It takes the pressure off on rainy departure days and gives people until 6pm at just £10 per pitch. The £5 per pitch option gives less time and I am sorry that I came across pushy. I genuinely thought you would appreciate staying until 6pm. I will make it up to you next time. Regards. Stu.
