Mi è piaciuto Brilliant location opposite embers pizza emporium - top class wood fired pizzas cooked by George- possibly the best pizzas in the north east. 20 min walk to a beautiful beach through woods and fields. 3
Portaloos provided which were clean with plenty of paper, and a water tap at the edge of the field

Non mi è piaciuto Not much. Next to the road but not busy. Relatively expensive - there are similar sites around for less cash

Mi è piaciuto Very nice stay would highly recommend.Porta loos clean only thing is if you wanted a longer stay shower facilities would make this possible.

Mi è piaciuto We loved our visit to this mysteriously named campsite. The facilities are basic but clean, and the lack of showers is reflected in the very reasonable cost. It is very well situated close to the beach and the village with the added bonus of a pizza pop up across the road.

Mi è piaciuto Location was lovely and easy to walk down to the beach. The level field for parking up and pitching. The portaloos were clean and lots of toilet paper.

Mi è piaciuto Peaceful site even when full up. Loved being able to walk to the beach and also to Ambleton farm shop in the mornings.

Mi è piaciuto Really good clean back to basics site. Clean & smell free Portaloos ( no sink in them tho)

Good walk down to the beach through a little section of forest & farmers fields. £10 a night is great and you can arrive or leave anytime you want which is a bonus! Pizza opposite is gorgeous

Mi è piaciuto Simple no frills site, the porta loos were very clean. Nice if you want a more off grid experience. A 10 minute walk down to the beach was lovely.
Wood fired pizzas were also served across the road which was nice to come back to in the evening, very nice. Would go back again.

Mi è piaciuto Peaceful (apart from slight road noise)
Easy walking distance from beach & Embleton, and a good base for walking to Craster via Dunstanburgh Castle.
Great wood-fired pizza place over road
Portaloos clean
Nice views over farmland
Plenty of space
Bus stop directly outside campsite (although with no bus stop sign! It is definitely a stop though) connecting to places like Craster, Alnwick, Bamburgh etc
Farm shop & petrol station shop in Embleton sell most things you're likely to need, both within walking distance
Local beach is lovely - lots of sand, not too busy, rock pools, dog friendly but no noticeable dog mess.

Non mi è piaciuto Long walk from most of site to single water tap - would be much better to have another tap closer to the toilets (more convenient for most campers plus good for washing hands after using the loo!)
Portaloos (no matter how clean they are, they're still not the most pleasant type of toilet to use!)
Quite a lot of the site is in shade in the afternoon and evening - could be welcome on a hot day but can get a bit cold on cooler days.

Mi è piaciuto Wonderful campsite with spotlessly clean toilets. We spent three nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Directions to the site were first-class, It's a short walk to the beach and we enjoyed coastal walks from the site to Low Newton by the Sea and to Craster (super kippers) via Dunstanburgh Castle. The pizzas from across the road are excellent and it was lovely having a glass of wine while they cooked. We didn't use the wifi.
