Mi è piaciuto Easy booking & checking. Beautiful site with picturesque lake and trees. Ample facilities including flushing toilets, gas showers, sinks, refuse and drinking water. Plenty of space to find a private pitch.

However, we are very grateful for your constructive private feedback regarding the main toilet block. We apologise that the hand wash was running low, the bins needed emptying, and the block required a light clean during your visit. We will share this directly with our housekeeping team to ensure our regular cleaning and restocking routines are tightened up. Thank you again for your kind support and for helping us improve. Not as described. No welcome hut. Shower block is actually a ply wood screen with warm water; however the screen is too high, so children can be seen whilst showering, it’s never been cleaned and was green with algae.

Car park looked like a dump with loads of old building materials left all over the place (good for some kids who used it as ramps /kickers for their bikes)

Toilets were not clean when we arrived and not cleaned once whilst we were there. No toilet roll, no soap (both ran out on day 2 of 4).

Bins/recycling not tidied up once and not fit for purpose. Given the limited number of pitches, this doesn’t seem to be collected regularly.

Toilet blocks have been built with incorrect materials (standard ply and CLS) so everything is warped/ falling apart and numerous screws poking through.

Sinks, whilst having hot water (assuming no one else is using a tap or flushing the toilet), flow straight on to the ground. Soap suds and all. Not good for the environment.

No mention in the description of the constant shotgun fire to scare the birds of neighbouring fields starting at 4am

Mi è piaciuto The area was clean, tidy and loved the lake setting. Check in was easy and straight forward.

Non mi è piaciuto The facilities were awful. There was one working shower for the whole campsite on arrival that then broke and ran cold halfway through the weekend with no fix. Showering my son with cold water was horrendous and left him in tears but no choice after a beach day.

The toilets had no cold water ironically for either tap in the men’s toilets and then when the hand towels ran out a very worn and used towel was left which is very unhygienic for all.

I reported via WhatsApp about the shower with no response and when I spoke to staff she said there was no fix and did apologise.

For the price paid (we know it was bank holiday) the facilities definitely should be in working order.

I would recommend but the showers need to be in working order. It was the only thing to ruin a brilliant weekend.

Mi è piaciuto Absolutely loved our stay here this weekend! What a beautiful site nestled away in the woodland. Clean and warm toilets and showers, fresh running water and fire pits right next to the lake. We were so happy, we hardly left the site

Mi è piaciuto Beautiful spot, lovely lake and woods - couldn't believe the place was so empty, but the prices might be putting folk off?
My campervan pitch was cheaper than tent, so the pricing structure is a little odd.
Lots of bad feedback if you look at the reviews, but tbf we actually really enjoyed it ! Yes it's basic, the toilets are simple and clean, no frills, same for the washup area, and the shower is an experience - warm, yes, private, less so - but nobody can see anything (and we were pretty much the only folk there it felt like) - but it's all part of the rustic charm ! And it looks like the site is a work in progress, so I bet it's constantly improving, but you can't improve that lake view and woodland - that's unchangeable !
Spoke to the guy in charge on the phone, Nigel I think - he was super helpful, so too was Blaze the host on site
Oh, and the big firepits were awesome !

Very noisy from local farmer bird scarers which began at first light to the end of the day - sounds like canons going off every ten minutes so, so don’t go if you suffer from PTSD
