Dragons Back Wild Camping

Mi è piaciuto The site is in a beautiful location and great camp as a base for a walk around the dragon's back. The team on site were very friendly and relaxed about paying the remainder of the fee. We liked the ponies, chickens and very vocal sheep!

Non mi è piaciuto Toilet and shower facilities are a little limited (two porta-loos and a shower-shower when we were there), time your visits well. The site is on a bit of a slope, so snag a flat bit if you can. There is a race track nearby which can be very noisy when race day is happening.

Non mi è piaciuto Had 2 dogs, lots of sheep poo in the camping area, we appreciate it’s a farm but the camping area was affected massively. And we were advised that they were kept separate. Maybe difficult for tents . Had to pick up lots of sheep poo for a clean area for dogs.

Comments noted. Farmer going to dig out his cattle grid this week and lower a gate a bit so hopefully that'll stop the beggars from keep wandering in.

Mi è piaciuto Amazing wild campsite. Friendly owners and guests. The facilities were clean and modern. Offered us so much help to get around Buxton and taxi numbers. Couldn’t have asked for more from the owners. We will definitely be booking again!

The Saturday was fairly full but still felt like lots of space and privacy

Also there's a second loo now! If you're worried about earlier reviews commenting on that. Didn't need to queue, shower nice and hot, people friendly

Nice to see chickens and sheep roaming around, and horses in a field nearby

Mi è piaciuto What a great location for a weekend, stunning scenery and walks in abundance. Pitch anywhere in the field was great , used the toilets not the shower and water available alongside wash up . Perfect for dragons back and a walk into Hollinsclough with its honesty shop. We walked into Longnor once over Chrome Hill , lovely coffee shops and strollthrough the country lanes back. Would definitely recommend .

The power was failure that lasted 2 hours was a network failure. Unfortunately this affects the borehole pumps which supply the site and was unfortunately outside our control but does happen on rare occasions. We have looked to see what mitigation can be put in place but unfortunately due to onerous National Park Planning Regulations we have been limited in what we can achieve presently. Kind regards.

Mi è piaciuto Lovely rural camp sites with the most stunning views.

Non mi è piaciuto Only one toilet for the entire pitch, I know it was a pop up site but with over 50 people on the site more than one would have been good.

Mi è piaciuto Good location off the main routes. Plenty of families and kids having fun so not the quietest but nothing wrong with that! Great to see the sheep wandering around up to tents etc. so wouldn’t take any reactive dogs.
Washing up sink was clean more than some sites we’ve stayed at great to see it has one.

Non mi è piaciuto Toilet/ shower situation I knew but it was extremely busy in evening and morning would be impossible staying longer if you were out walking all day and wanted a warm shower. Shower was clean but no drying space or bench. 1 of each certainly doesn’t seam enough for the amount of people- hopefully if they add another block we’d happily book again.

As 'The Equals' would say 'Come back, Baby come back' we have put a new toilet in today and will review the shower situation for the next season as we are winding down after the bank holiday weekend next week.
