A aimé Never seen a pitch so large! 9m by 9m was such a luxury! TV aerial connection provided on pitch and fully serviced. Immaculate site which is a must for dog lovers. Lots of walks to do, and a dedicated exercise field where the pups can run free. Shower / toilet block was remarkably clean and just perfect. Lots of ponds and water around with picnic seats everywhere. Looked like a lovely restaurant and bar on site, but one of the dogs with us is a bit unruly so we missed these out. Lots of tables outside the bar, and you can even book an outside pod at the restaurant for the dogs - but ours is just too unruly for that!! Reception was wonderful and everyone so helpful. We cannot wait to return visit! We could see some building work starting for a new pool / sauna activities which I imagine will be just as good as the rest of the site. Lots of seasonal pitches, with a static caravan (luxury!) village and you can even select to stay in the adults only area if you wish. The views 360 are staggering, felt like we were in another world!

A aimé Great sized and level pitches. Water and drainage handy so no massive pipes needed. Lovely little dog walk round the back, and plenty more to investigate around the area. Extensive information shed full of books, DVDs and walk routes you can take away. Perfect shower block and always clean. A little bit of paradise in storm Dave! Really enjoyed a most peaceful stay.

A aimé Large and level pitches, different layouts to suit motorhomes / caravans which is an excellent idea! Loads of hard standing, with plenty of grass area. Such a peaceful site, lovely to wake up to the sheep bleating nearby and the birds tweeting away. Some lovely walks for the dogs along the river, with a specific dog lead free in an enclosed area. Lots of public footpaths to discover! Shower and toilet block was immaculate and a really good size. Constant water, with no push button to worry about! TV signal is poor but the owners have provided a freesat dish for each pitch, and for a returnable deposit you can borrow a freesat box - feels like every possible issue has been resolved to make your stay 100% enjoyable. Unique drainage system on each pitch, so no need for lots of pipes etc - water supplied to each pitch at a great water pressure. Free Wi-Fi which worked with no issues on all our devices. We loved it and can’t wait to come again!

A aimé Super friendly staff who showed us to our large and level pitch, secluded away in lovely gardens. Fantastic place for dog owners with a massive dog field just yards away. Great walks along the river which our pubs loved. Brilliant shower block, very clean and with the most amazing showers - water pressure was better than at home! Can’t wait to visit again.

A aimé Good size pitches with some lovely views. Really nice walks with the dogs around the lakes and forest. The onsite bar and restaurant was absolutely amazing! The staff were so friendly and the food was great. Had a great time despite some poor weather which cannot be helped. Lots of gravel / tarmac paths for when the weather was not so good without the dogs getting filthy.

N'a pas aimé The water pressure in the toilet / shower block was very poor - but the whole place was immaculately clean. Would not put me off going again, just a disappointing shower.

A aimé Warm and welcoming reception, pitch was perfect. Enormous shower / toilet block and immaculate! A proper shower with a full room, no fighting with your towel at this site. Amazing walks with the dogs in the nearby (5 second walk) Silverhill woods. Lakes, Forests, Steep Climbs and full of History. Little shop on site for the necessities you forgot, and there is a pub down the round - don’t think it is particularly dog friendly so we never made it to there. Wi Fi was purchasable but the phone signal was so strong there was no need.

A aimé Good sized pitch and level. Some really nice views from the site. Site can be peaceful when road allows. The pub next to the site is amazing, warm welcome and the food was great. Pub is dog friendly in some areas, but tables get booked quick so best to reserve. Once you’ve tried the food you will understand why tables get booked quick! Toilet / shower block was clean and a great size - not a cramped shower at all. There are some footpaths nearby, but it looks like the landowners disagree with them as there are fences in the way and cow troughs. We did take a lovely walk through the street of New Biggin, but had to take great care with the dogs as no footpath. We were there 3 nights and did eventually warm to the site despite the dislikes.

N'a pas aimé Site states there is wi fi and free wi fi, which is not true. There is free wi fi at the pub only, but nothing on site as described. No issue with a campsite not having wi fi, but do not like an incorrect description. Once booked up, received a welcome email to say dogs could not be exercised on site at all - although described as ‘Dogs welcome’. There are no footpaths on the road next to the site, although some large grass borders. The traffic is very fast on the road so a bit hazardous with 2 dogs. Site is right next to the road as well, our pitch was feet away with just a hedge in between so could be a bit noisy at times.

A aimé Everything! Lovely pitch size and perfect level. Warm and inviting reception with what looked a great shop for necessities. Clean toilet / shower block. Showers were an impressive size and comfortable to use. Really easy to find off main road, but no noise coming in from traffic. We visited the mansion pub which was great, and the free wi fi in there was starlink and so fast! There are footpaths leading through the site that were a great walk for the dogs. They even have a small woodland walk for the mutts on site, and plenty of dog poop bins. We wandered off to Pooley Bridge along the footpath and the views of the lakes were out of this world. The ‘town’ was great and had more walks - the little shop with the big door is a must visit if you like your gins! We paid for WiFi on site and that worked perfectly for us. The staff were all really good, and we just enjoyed our stay 100%

A aimé Really good reception and a nice little shop full of goodies!

N'a pas aimé Motorhome pitch was really small, luckily for us there were no other motorhomes or we would have felt hemmed in. There were 3 pitches in a sort of circle and very claustrophobic. Motorhome length only just fit onto pitch. Very little to do on site, most views were obscured by the trees at the edge of the site. The holiday home portion seemed very crammed in, felt more like the owners are after £ per square footage rather than any quality. No where to exercise dogs, the best place to walk was up the farm campsite just above - the views looked amazing from there. The best views were of the field next to the site that was actually flooded looking more like a lake. Toilet / shower block was a long way from tourers field and there were only 2 showers per gender. These showers were extremely small and not a joy to use, although they were clean.

A aimé Don’t be disheartened when you first approach this site, the road in is very deceiving - feels like you are entering a car park! It is a small campsite but extremely well run. The toilet / shower block is small, but adequately sized for the size of the site - and clean and well sized inside. The stella quality is the location, some beautiful walks down the riverside that our mutts loved. Quick walk into the town and everything you need is there and more! Very peaceful site, in the mornings you can hear the river flowing and the birds chirping.

N'a pas aimé No wi-fi (but not advertised so cannot complain!) - phone signal was good enough for wi fi. Did not want to leave at all!

A aimé Well maintained site. Wonderful toilet / shower block that was underfloor heated so very cosy. Great field on site for walking dogs on lead. We only stopped one night, so not much time for exploring - but the views were staggering.

A aimé Loved everything! Really well thought out campsite with a marvelous pub at your doorstep. The pitches are a great size, well laid out with water on pitch, electric and even a dedicated picnic table! We stopped on a Thursday for 3 nights so we saw how busy the campsite became over the weekend - so it's not just us that loved it! Even though just about every pitch was filled, it was still a calm and peaceful campsite - everything just running smoothly. We had a meal at the pub, reasonably priced and really tasty - good proper food. Pub was super dog friendly which was great for our 2 pups. We did have a worry that the toilet / shower block was not sufficient for all the happy campers but we did not have to wait or queue once during our stay so that put that concern to bed! There is a an additional unisex block nearer the pub which really helped. A small but perfect area where the dogs could run free off lead and behind fence so safe, which is always an added bonus. Our Ripley loved her little chat with the goats. The balance between a lively pub and a peaceful campsite has been perfectly stuck. On our arrival we had the most delightful introduction to the site, the staff really know their job and are really friendly. We had an issue with our electrical connection but reception resolved my mistake within seconds! Some amazing walks nearby, which the dogs loved. We cannot wait for a return visit - everything was perfect!

A aimé A little peaceful haven so close to a beautiful sandy beach. A small site but with lovely amenities, not known a shower unit that large on a site before! Great little shop for the necessities like wine, ice cream and bacon! Even had doggy ice cream for the pups. A small pub on site, but only open when demand allows so we missed this. The hosts are 100% perfect and help in every way possible - they did everything to make our stay wonderful. A 15 minute walk down the lanes and through some woodland gives you the most luscious sandy dog-friendly beach. Even when tide was in we could discover the opposite side, making the most precious memories. The dogs absolutely loved it! Really good free wi fi on site too. Hosts even offer a shuttle to New Quay down the road for a tiny £1 donation and offer TV dongles to help you get signal!

A aimé Everything! Absolute gem of a campsite, although more of a luxury hotel for motorhomes, tents and caravans! The views are out of this world, with the sun sets to die for. Perfectly sized and level pitches, ours was fully serviced and everything was close to the pitch. Amenities were spotless, even with a free washing machine and dryer to use! Lively site with lots of people coming and going. Really enjoyed the sea breeze sanctuary, a most wonderful garden offering lovely shade. Fantastic dog exercise field, even had a ball thrower and balls to borrow! Lots of dog poop bins, so a great place for dog owners. The sea with a rocky beach is a 5 minute walk in the campsite and is also dog friendly. There is a food van serving hot food most evenings, and we were told most of the restaurants in the area deliver - we did see pizzas being delivered! Staff are super helpful and really friendly. We stayed 3 nights and honesty could have stayed for weeks!

A aimé Everything was perfect. Immaculate amenities on site and stunning views. Some sites have that ‘feeling good’ atmosphere, and Newnes certainly hit the spot! Our 2 dogs loved the walks round the site and the owners even mow round the outside of the sheep field to give a further walk. Site owners were so welcoming and kind. Only stayed 2 nights but could have easily stayed much longer.

A aimé It's been a while since we have been to such a simple campsite, we normally go for the fully serviced pitches - but we are so glad we gave this site a try! The views all great all round, and the area is so calming. Its a busy site with lots of families, but everyone is so friendly there is just a lovely atmosphere about the whole site. Facilities are good enough, but the jewel in the crown is the bar / restaurant. An amazing experience to be had here - the hosts are out of this world and so kind and caring. The food is out of this world and reasonably priced - and the portions are generous. Could have happily stayed and worked our way through the menu - in fact we enjoyed our stay so much we did try to book another night but unfortunately there was no space at the inn! Footpaths to explore around the site and next to the river, and the site is dog friendly too. Will be happy to visit again! Really easy site to get to, but no road noise.

A aimé Fully serviced hard standing pitch. The wi-fi was amazing, but that was about it for our 3 night stay.

N'a pas aimé When we arrived there was no one at reception and neither phone numbers were picked up. After about 30 minutes a resident helped us out and told us where to park, eventually we found the warden who told us the same. Lovely amenities block, but the men’s only had 2 showers and one proper toilet - the block was not heated so got a little chilly. The bins did not appear to get emptied in the toilet during our stay. Not an issue while we were there as the site was almost empty of people, very much a ghost town as the site is more of a seasonal caravan site. We did have to help another booking who also could not contact reception. The views from the gents toilets are stunning, otherwise all you can see is the gents or the next door cow shed. The beach may only be a 30 minute walk away but the road to get there was single track with no pathway and with 2 dogs it was just too narrow and dangerous. We never saw the reception manned once in the 3 nights we were there. On the last day the electric stopped working, and the meter had been beeping all night. We contacted the reception phone numbers again with no response, we had to go out to get the warden who appeared to add some credit. After this the electric kept tripping constantly at the site meter so we gave up and left. At the next campsite electric was working fine - very suspicious! The hot water at the pot wash was ridiculous, ran cold and then roasting hot and then back to cold - went back to using the Motorhome for dish washing!

A aimé Wonderful walks and a great place for dogs! Seems very child friendly with lots to do. Staff were amazing and really friendly. Looked like a good bar and bistro but we were self sufficient during our stay. The lake walk was brilliant and all the residents liked to stop and chat. Well looked after shower and toilets. Large field where dogs can run free. Even had free TV cable which was great to use!

N'a pas aimé Hard standing was a little narrow, but the grass area made up for this - but wonder what this would be like in wetter weather. Would not stop us from going again though!

A aimé What an amazing place! Serene walks around the water and a great full field for the dogs to run free next to the stream. Really busy campsite but felt so spacious and not cramped in. Staff were excellent and super friendly. We booked this last minute and for same day and we are so glad we did. Added bonus with a picnic table at the pitch, with the great weather we even took advantage of that!
