N'a pas aimé Facilities for campers are a joke. Dishwashing only at big campside, far away, no baby changing station ANYWHERE, badly automated sinktaps but 40p for a hairdryer?? Coins for the washings?? Modern but not modern. Campers really are treated like second class

A aimé Nothing it was sh*t from the moment we arrived.

N'a pas aimé Staff are rude, there was a French dad and son who arrived before me to check in and they didn’t have great English and the guy checking them in was very rude and blunt I didn’t like it. They basically have kids running the bar and it just doesn’t work. No customer service skills what so ever. The showers are absolutely vile. Couldn’t use them. The showers shown on pitch up aren’t the ones campers use so that’s false advertisement!!! They hadn’t been cleaned on arrival, the sinks had toothpaste in all of them bare in mind we arrived around 5:30pm. One of the showers had about 2 inches of mud on the shower head how does that even happen? The ground is stupidly hard, impossible to get tent pegs into. We had a guy who started his car up next to us around 6am and left it running for about an hour so that was nice. Couldn’t ever return.

Réponse du gestionnaire : Thanks for the review. Considering it was apparently “sh*t from the moment you arrived”, you certainly managed to experience an impressive number of disasters during one camping trip!

The French father and son were checked in perfectly normally. A language barrier can make conversations shorter and more direct — deciding on their behalf that they were offended is an interesting interpretation.

Our bar is staffed by employees, not “kids”. We did look for a team of 47-year-old sommeliers to run a campsite bar, but strangely there wasn’t a queue.

Our shared showers are regularly cleaned and checked, and the accusation of false advertising is simply incorrect. Sadly, we can’t station someone in every shower waiting for toothpaste or the mysterious “two inches of mud” to appear.

As for the “stupidly hard” ground, controlling the British weather and soil conditions hasn’t quite made it onto our list of services yet. The same goes for magically knowing another camper has started their car at 6am when nobody reports it.

We happily accept genuine criticism, but being blamed for language barriers, toothpaste, mud, another guest’s car and the geological condition of the earth is quite an achievement.

We have a sneaking suspicion you actually had a lovely time and were just jealous everyone else got to stay longer. 😉

You’ve said you’ll never return, though, so at least we found something we can agree on.

A aimé Lovely location and friendly helpful staff. Great having bar, restaurant and takeaway on site at reasonable prices.
The camping field was big and flat in most places. Also great value. Overall a great place.

N'a pas aimé Toilets were a bit basic and struggled to cope with the numbers while I was there. It was a busy weekend with a hotrod event. By Sunday morning when I was leaving the loos were not in great shape.

A aimé I liked the holiday park and the tavern and the donuts and piza place and having a shop on site was really good. The showers were clean and hot.

N'a pas aimé I was refused entry in to the tavern with my wee dog. I only wanted to go in and get a drink then go outside and sit in the sun. The answer and solution i got was to tie my dog up outside, which i was not gonna do.
I also asked if they did a table service which i was told they did not.
The shower and toilet facilities at the camping field are ok but since the size of the field is as big as it is there needs to be more and of a better standard than the porta cabins.

We are genuinely sorry about the experience with your wee dog. We completely understand why tying them up outside wasn’t an option, and we’re sorry the alternative offered wasn’t particularly helpful. We’ll take that feedback on board, along with your comments about table service.

We also appreciate the feedback regarding the camping facilities. As the camping field gets busier, we understand why additional facilities would make a difference and it’s something worth us looking at.

Hopefully your wee four-legged camping companion forgives us and you’ll both come back again! 🐶❤️

We are sorry to hear about your experience with members of our team. Being described as rude or confrontational isn’t the impression we want anyone leaving with, particularly when you felt this happened on three separate occasions.
