What customers say
A well-run, clean, and friendly campsite with lovely views and spacious sites. Good facilities, restaurant, and shop. Staff were helpful and it offered good value. Some noise during busy times and quirky showers, but many would return.

Campsite geared towards holiday homes and campervans, not backpackers
Primitive grass tent campsite (solo)
Liked Beautiful view to countryside from pitch area. Nice to have access to restaurant/bar. Cute bunnies living in the camping field. A 10 minute detour off St Cuthbert’s Way trail
Disliked Work is being done near the camping area, and I believe due to the off-season, takeaway food vans and picnic tables were being stored in camping area. Also, the amenities block for campers was closed so toilets/showers near the camping area were closed with no access to a drying room or washing up area that were advertised on the website. It was a bit of a trek to get to the porta-loo set up for toilets in the RV/campervan area. The ladies toilet had barely any water pressure in the sinks and the water was ice cold. Thankfully, the showers were hot with good water pressure. As a backpacker, I could find no place to fill up my water and when I asked at the tavern, they couldn’t tell me where to fill it up but thankfully my server filled up the water bottle I had with me. The campground is clearly geared towards holiday homes, campervans, and perhaps car campers, not backpackers. A good site to pitch tent but sadly lacking in some of the advertised amenities.

Adequate for an overnight stay.
Primitive grass tent campsite (solo)
Liked Pleasant location and views.
Disliked Nearby toilets and showers were locked and unusable. Had to walk to another part of the park to find open facilities.
An employee on a four wheeler chose to drive quickly through my campsite rather than using the road. Dangerous for children.

Primitive grass tent campsite (two person)
Liked Lovely clean site all round. Great camping field and entertainment was fantastic.
A handful of the members of staff were amazing and friendly.
Food in the tavern bar was really good. We had a Sunday carvery, which wasn’t the greatest, and the chef cutting up the meat was so friendly and welcoming.
Disliked The other half of the staff not so much. Found them to enjoy a chat more than serving customers, some had really bad attitude.
The other lady standing at the carvery station was miserable, and patronising. Trying to tell me how to pour gravy on my dinner and got visibly frustrated when I ignored it.
