Μου άρεσε I was a bit apprehensive about trying this site because of the mixed reviews however I am so glad I did.

Great value for money as solo traveller. Noisy roads usually annoy me but I pitched at the opposite end of the field. It was fine I’ve stayed at worse.

The reception lady was lovely and friendly on arrival. The shop is not big but had had what you need as they have caravans and lodges on site.

Spacious pitches as it was quiet, I think in summer/busier periods = less privacy but for one night it was perfect.

Toilets were close to pitches and yes a slight sewage smell as I walked into the cabin but only smelt this once as I was at the door. Did not smell from arpund the field. I don’t know what people expect from portacabin in a field.
Inside the toilets and shower block was clean so that’s the main thing for me.

Great, huge field to walk the dog and other walks around to do.

The park was lovely to explore. Also the staff up at the fish and chip shop were so friendly too. They even had live entertainment and it sounded great.
At least I got to sit outside with my fish and chips to hear some music before going back to the tent. Cant wait to go back.

Δεν μου άρεσε No bar staff come outside to take a drink order so as a solo traveller sitting with my dog I had to reply on someone to help hold my dog while I went inside to get a beer. The chippie guy helped when he was quiet which was great. Meant I could sit and enjoy the music for a while.

Μου άρεσε Spacious, flat pitches with gorgeous views. Very well stocked shop. Friendly and very helpful staff. Handy restaurant on site with good options and excellent service. Toilet/shower facilities excellent, very clean. Very well maintained.

Δεν μου άρεσε Pitches near main road were noisy in the evening.
Very, very strong smell of sewage through the night coming from touring vehicle area.

Μου άρεσε Lovely welcome. The site itself is well maintained and a nice size. We were the only tent on the site so had the pick of the field. We pitched closer to the toilet/washing up area which were st the end of the field. The toilet block was well maintained. Only 2x washing up sinks not sure how that would work when it’s busy.

Δεν μου άρεσε We were not fans of NO hot water to wash up or in the toilet block to wash hands. Didn’t even try the shower out of curiosity. For this reason we only stayed the one night instead of 3 we are soft campers and like access to hot water without booking our kettle. The site was rather noisy due to the road location. It’s quite a busy road and we prefer the sound of wildlife when camping. Also the tavern is lovely and accommodates dogs outside but when it’s wet I can’t believe there’s no dogs allowed inside. Yes there are umbrellas in the outdoor seating area but still not daft enough to sit outside in the rain.

Μου άρεσε Good campsite with the option to choose your own pitch, which makes it more flexible than most. Toilets and drinking water are in a convenient spot close to the field. Regular security presence walking round the site definitely showed their commitment to safety for all.

Nice views across the hills, and the site is easy to get to. Also not far from nearby towns, which is useful.

Δεν μου άρεσε A few downsides during the stay. Check-in at the bar felt rushed, likely because it was busy, which meant the directions to the pitch weren’t explained clearly. There was also no information given about restaurant or food hut opening times, so arriving later made it unclear what was still available.

I had a dog with me, but aside from it being noted on the map, no guidance was provided on where dogs were allowed. Because of that, I didn’t end up using the bar or food areas, and I only later found out from other campers that there’s a nearby walk that would’ve been useful to know about.

Signage to the camping field could be improved; I initially ended up in the touring pitches, which were very crowded, and only found the correct area with help from other campers.

Also, on the first evening, the female toilets ran out of toilet paper, so worth being aware of.

Μου άρεσε The pub is amazing and the food is pretty good. The personnel was lovely too. Remember to make a reservation beforehand, it's very busy.

Δεν μου άρεσε Showers were closed and the road nearby is still busy during the evening, but not too noisy.

Μου άρεσε Pitches were good size. Views were lovely staff were friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean. Perfect for a night stopover.

Μου άρεσε Great campervan pitch on the grass. Very well kept and clean. Great to have the option of using the restaurant/bar but equally it was far enough away that it still felt very quiet!
