Great experience
Emplacement pour tente ou camping-car sur herbe et sur sol en terre sans électricité (sauvage)
A aimé I'd been following Bush Farm on Facebook for a few years, so I was really pleased to finally get the chance to visit with me and the dog.
If you're looking for glamping, hot tubs, fairy lights and someone to fluff your pillows, this probably isn't the place for you. But if you like proper camping, fresh air, and the feeling that you've escaped the modern world for a bit, it's fantastic.
The site has a great layout, plenty of space, and a beautiful river that my dog seemed to think had been installed purely for his entertainment. I spent far more time than I'd like to admit just sitting by the water doing absolutely nothing productive.
I also treated myself to a pizza, which was excellent. Nothing quite beats sitting outdoors with a good pizza after a day of wandering about pretending you're far more outdoorsy than you really are.
What I loved most was how back-to-basics it all is. No unnecessary fuss, no gimmicks, just a brilliant wild camping experience in a lovely setting. It's not for everyone, and that's exactly why it's so good.
I'll definitely be back and hopefully I’ll bring some friends.

A aimé Had the best experience, Stuart was so friendly and helpful, especially when I lit my first campfire. The place is very rustic, very remote and just the tonic
N'a pas aimé How dusty my car got but that didn’t outway the experience and would go back
Could do with hot water in the sink

A gem of a place to relax
Emplacement pour tente ou camping-car sur herbe et sur sol en terre sans électricité (sauvage)
A aimé This place is exactly what it says it is...a lovely working farm where you can pick your spot and be basically unbothered.
We went in half term so the "prime real estate" by the river was fairly busy. Great for families with kids who want to adventure and play. We went up into one of the fields and pitched behind a rocky little woodland. It was lovely.
It is true that away from the river the fields are far less shaded, sloped and harder to access (4WD would have been handy!) but there is a huge amount of space to roam around and loads of pick your own pitches. We love to be well away from others so we are fairly difficult to please...and still we found a great pitch for our van and awning...you just have to take your time and be prepared to wander about a bit before deciding.
It is wonderful to be able to pick your own spot and to be wild and away from a lot of the normal rigid pitches and rules.
It is a working farm, so it isn't polished and pristine...but it is absolutely lovely with some fantastic scenery and a beautiful riverside. The tent only field is incredibly tranquil. If you understand that farming has messy bits the occasional rough area shouldn't come as a surprise.

A aimé Location
N'a pas aimé I was introduced to this campsite by friends and fall in love for the site immediately, stunning location, always felt safe and secure, so understandably I was looking forward to my stay this year.
How different my experience was this year, to the point I'll never come back to this site!
I arrived Tuesday after work around 2ish in the afternoon, there was nobody at the reception, the other years there was always someone at the reception! Because of the heat and my scatter brain, menopausal woman here, I forgot to call the numbers they have at the reception door and went straight to my favourite spot because I was desperate for shade because I had my dog and cat with me. So I proceeded to the last field, one of the reasons I fallen in love with this place, there's loads of room for disperse camping, if I wanted to be on top of each other I would of went to a conventional campsite. On arrival at the entrance of the last field I saw a red sign saying no vehicles past this point, thought that's strange because we always stayed on that field, I stop the car and went and check the field and saw that there was tracks on the grass, so I assumed people were there during the opening the past weekend, and I thought they put the sign in for insurance purposes, because in the entrance of the field the road is a bit "scary " but if you go slowly you can do it without problems, so I enter the field, went to my favourite spot, and set up camp, may I had, I litter pick before setting up, it wasn't bad, only a few bits of plastic, a hair crunchy and 2 dog poo bags.
I spent the next 3 days in total bliss and only saw 4 people during those days, none of them were camp staff, the other years there was a lovely gentleman on a quad bike going around every day checking everything was alright, so I assumed they must of changed management.
On the third day at 9.30 at night, a man barged in my site, never introduced himself, telling me that my car couldn't be there and that I had to move it, not back to the entrance of the field but to the opposite way, I tried to explain to him what I mentioned above, I thought someone went flying tro the "scary" bit of the road and broke their car/van and tried to sue then so to save themselves they put that sign at the entrance, the man was been intimidating and threatening which scared me because I was alone with my pets and there was nobody else in the field, I end up moving the car but because I didn't left exactly where he told me he turned nasty and demanded me to leave the site by 9am and he left. Needless to say this incident left me quite shaken and distressed, because of it I hardly slept that night, as soon as there was light I packed my things and left the site with tears in my eyes because I loved this place so much and was shocked with what happened the night before, I left the site better than I found it, spotless, because am a nature lover and am very respectful of my surroundings and other people, is a shame really because I was going to book another 2 nights.
I really hope the staff, or whoever that man was, to get some training in customer skills, because his skills were appoling! Approaching a single woman late at night in that matter is out of order!!!!

A aimé The wide open spaces and free rein to explore and choose your pitch. The welcome was fantastic with all the information we needed given. Peaceful surroundings, lovely trees and easy to access river for wild swimming. Staying here feels like a genuine escape from life and was really relaxing.
N'a pas aimé The long grass made things more difficult than a traditional campsite. I fell over twice in hidden holes so take care. It should be noted that the full 200 acres are not accessible in a traditional car but there is still plenty of room.

Lovely relaxed haven
Emplacement pour tente ou camping-car sur herbe et sur sol en terre sans électricité (sauvage)
A aimé Friendly and helpful hosts. Relaxed atmosphere. Different areas to choose from to pitch up from the busier areas by the river to the quiet areas in the top fields. Plenty of space for everyone. Basic facilities which were fabulously quirky. You’re surrounded by wildlife and when we walked around the site, were even greeted by some adorable goats.
N'a pas aimé We didn't dislike anything. If we were to be really picky, the generator was loud for the Polish food van and was on all day until evening but they are offering a service and seemed popular. We could have moved at any time so not complaining.
