The Riverfront York

A aimé Spacious, immaculate pitches. Plenty of space on the gravel to step onto and then the grass area was perfect for sitting in the sunshine. Shower blocks - wow ! Very nice and clean each time of use. The whole area is kept immaculate and it was a pleasure to stay.

A aimé Very neat and well maintained site. EHU and water on the pitch I was on. Great shower block facilities - stylish. Cafe with freshly cooked food open until 4 pm. Lovely ice cream - which I had one both days I was there. Yum. Plenty of seating both riverside and between the cafe and Bosun’s restaurant. Bosun’s is a very nice restaurant. On the higher side but yes a great restaurant. The pods on the riverside were very nice. Self check in - so just park on the pitch allocated to you and set up.. Boat hire available and the also the riverboat ferry into York. Bus stop at the top of the lane into York also. Couple of pubs in the village. Walks along the riverbank. I’m definitely coming back in the future and don’t understand the 4 rating further down. I loved this site. No awnings mean that the lovely grassed area within the pitch remains looking fresh.

N'a pas aimé Nothing in particular for me, but some people might not feel comfortable with no security barriers. As long as this is highlighted then everyone is aware. I liked the fact I could get straight onto my allocated pitch.

A aimé Location next to river and cafe on site.

Own water tap for each pitch .... alas no drain, required a lengthy walk across the graveled road to the one waste water disposal point.

N'a pas aimé Very clean toilet facilities but would benefit from privacy cubicles.

Gravel roadway noisy, would be better with a tarmac surface.

A aimé Excellent facilities (shower / toilet block), well maintained surroundings, very tidy and clean.

N'a pas aimé Lack of recycling facilities. We were told BBQs were not permitted only to witness several during our stay.
Not a dislike but we didn’t see the owners during our stay.

A aimé Clean toilets / showers and warm . nice pitches . Lovely site next to river . Cafe good bacon sandwiches . Hired boat great fun .

N'a pas aimé Not the site but restaurant bolons were not very helpful . Online said could book table at 4 then they said they were closed . Tried booking night after fully booked too but guy said you didn’t need to book . Asked for other pubs no help , kind local helped us out with different options as we were tired after travelling and just wanted some hot food.

Although the restaurant operates its own booking system, it is part of The Riverfront York, and we take your comments seriously. A aimé The most peaceful, beautiful site I have been to. Loved the self check in. Shower and toilet facilities were beautiful. My little boy loved riding his bike around the site. Lovely pitch right on the river front.

A aimé Pitch was flat. Local village is nice. Co Op store is a 10 min walk and useful.

N'a pas aimé Security is none existent. No booking in or barrier. Just drive to your pitch. Very public site. We had pitch 10. We had a drove of people walking past looking into our motorhome. Fellow campers have respect but people walking past were looking at us eating and standing there. 20+ minutes drive to get into York. River taxi not frequent enough. Walk to the old iron bridge is not good. Bit of a dump walking past the unkempt house boat locations.
The amount of mens toilets is woeful, two toilets for the amount of people on site. The grey waste point was full, spilling over into the ground.
Only one person on site, picks up litter, then heads to his boat to eat Pizza.
I could go on.
Never going there again.
