A aimé We had a fairly level gravel pitch and a nice amount of grass, great for staking the dog, and a wooden picnic table with benches which as we were only there one night saved us fishing out our own table and chairs. We had a nice view across fields and an attractive wild flower bed.
The ladies shower block was clean (2 loos & 2 showers) and there was good "al fresco" washing up facilities just outside the block.
It was good that there was a field to exercise the dogs although it could be better cared for.
The location enabled us to meet up with people who live nearby.

N'a pas aimé The fact that we could not get dinner at the pub. We did try to book before arriving in the afternoon but it was a busy Saturday evening and they were full. There was only 2 of us and we'd have been very happy to have collected food and taken it back to the van had that been an option. We were told we could still get a pizza but when my husband went to order they said the weren't doing them anymore because the pub was busy.
The Royal Oak that we could have walked to was also full and despite deciding we would have to get back in the Motorhome, not ideal after arriving at your site after a long drive, we couldn't get a table at two further pubs, The Black Lake Inn had availability but told us they weren't dog friendly! Apparently they take Guide Dogs but not Hearing Dogs so beware!! I did point out that Hearing Dogs have the same legal rights as Guide Dogs but frankly by then I didn't want to go there anyway.
We will try C.B.'s again for an overnight stop but only if we can make a dinner reservation first.

Wow that was a review and a Half .
I like the Good Bits but am confused by the Bad bits Lol
We send a text to all Campers early morn to advise bookup as we get very Busy .
So defo come again but book food in advance Please
( It of course shows if we are Fully booked we must be doing something right ) 😉😉😉

A aimé What's not to like - super clean pitches and facilities in a great location. Mick the Grounds Maintenance Chap is a really helpful chap - as the grass was a little long by our pitch and as it had rained was damp, so he mowed it all short to enable it to dry out quicker for our hounds to lie outside on their beds. Drinks and food is reasonably priced and of good value with plenty of seating options outside.

The owner is also super helpful pointing out local history and walks in the area. A visit to the Foxfield Steam Railway is a fab walk - finished off with a mooch at the old steam trains with a pint before heading back to site.

We always book a return visit whilst on site as, not surprisingly, it does book up very quickly.

A aimé Really enjoyed our 3 night stay here, pitch was a brilliant size and the site was beautiful! Met the owner who was lovely and all the staff were helpful too! Lots to do around the area on foot or a short drive away, we had some lovely walks with the dog. The pub, dog field and fire pits on site were fab additions, will definitely be returning. Thank you for a lovely stay, Grace, Lewis and Lyra 🐾

A aimé Very friendly homely feel to the site. Owner lovely. Very spacious pitches. Nice play area for the kids and very safe for them. Pub grub nice, however in our opinion overpriced. Would definitely return.

Strange about the Bar Staff issue they are always very good on advice with the Camp site or advise people to contact me , we are all one setup .
We cant man the Camp reception 24/7 so soz about that.

A aimé Nearly everything. Pitch, pub, owner, location, walks everywhere so bring a map.
Owner very interesting to talk to re history of the village. Beautiful church opposite. Gorgeous wild flower planting at the bottom of site. Clean and perfectly functional shower and toilets. Pub staff lovely.

N'a pas aimé It was quiet when we visited, just after school holidays but the site I imagine would benefit from a few more loos and showers during busy periods. Would definitely visit again though. Lovely 😍

A aimé The pitches were so spacious and well kept the toilets and shower rooms were decorated to high standards and were so clean and warm we booked into restaurant for dinner and the staff were so friendly and meals were lovely and very reasonable we spoke to the owner Kevin he's a lovely man ,
