Me gustó The site has so much to do for everyone as has a lovely walk to the beach over the golf course and through the dunes. The farm shop is excellent - the best I’ve been in and the different food options are great with plenty of choice for everyone. For golfers and fishermen it’s perfect. And there are plenty of dog walking places with even a dog agility course which I’ve never come across before. For bikers there are bike trails and plenty of other areas for exploring. The washroom facilities are great and there is a dog bath area with warm water which is great. One on the dog walking fields is a wild meadow with paths mown through it and would be lovely when the flowers are blooming. They finished early this due to the hot weather I imagine.

No me gustó I would comment that the Sun Field where I was right in the corner, is a longish way from toilets etc but I managed. Also my motorhome has a drop tap for grey waste and a drive over drain would be a huge plus for motorhome owners Not dislikes, just comments

Me gustó Lovely holiday site close to Skipton. The touring pitches are close to the main entrance and you’re advised by email before arrival of pitch number. Park up then walk up the hill to the main house and reception to checkin. Remember your photo ID.. Good facilities at the shower block on the touring area. Dog shower which was invaluable to help my pooch cool down over the very hot bank holiday. The beer garden has lots of shade which was also welcome and the shop is small but well stocked with food items. The bar is nice and the pizza available very tasty. Good long drive for dog walks and the site is well maintained. My pitch was very flat so didn’t need ramps and fully serviced which was great. Site is mainly holiday or residential static caravans and lovely and quiet. WiFi only available in the bar so not on the rest of the site.

Me gustó Very neat and well maintained site. EHU and water on the pitch I was on. Great shower block facilities - stylish. Cafe with freshly cooked food open until 4 pm. Lovely ice cream - which I had one both days I was there. Yum. Plenty of seating both riverside and between the cafe and Bosun’s restaurant. Bosun’s is a very nice restaurant. On the higher side but yes a great restaurant. The pods on the riverside were very nice. Self check in - so just park on the pitch allocated to you and set up.. Boat hire available and the also the riverboat ferry into York. Bus stop at the top of the lane into York also. Couple of pubs in the village. Walks along the riverbank. I’m definitely coming back in the future and don’t understand the 4 rating further down. I loved this site. No awnings mean that the lovely grassed area within the pitch remains looking fresh.

No me gustó Nothing in particular for me, but some people might not feel comfortable with no security barriers. As long as this is highlighted then everyone is aware. I liked the fact I could get straight onto my allocated pitch.

Me gustó A very friendly site with great toilet and shower facilities - immaculate and cosy. A small shop within the reception area. Good dog walking field. They hire out fire pits and there are large stones by the bin area for use with the fire pits. All pitches are fully serviced and there is also a motorhome service point near the shower block. Most pitches are flat. There’s a wash up area near the shower block and an Elsan point in the middle of the site near the enclosed bin area. Wi-fi was good. The site is peaceful and looks like plenty of walking round about. The website gives further information on local pubs and ones further afield. Hartington village is around 2 miles away and a lovely place to visit.

Me gustó The pitch I had was the nearest row to the sea and therefore the view was great. The toilet block was nice - clean and warm. The shower curtains would benefit from moving closer to the shower head so the floor in the changing part didn’t get wet. The coffee truck looked lovely even tho I didn’t need to use it. The walk along the coastal path was lovely. Entrance to site over the railway crossing was novel but easy enough to use once you knew the instructions written at the gate. We ate at the Village Inn and the food was excellent with very friendly staff. Dogs welcome. Loved the fighter jets practicing overhead.

No me gustó No motorhome grey waste disposal drain. Had to leave site with grey waste tank full as I don’t have a waste master container

Me gustó The layout of this site was great. Landscaping around pitches to make mostly individual sections in the first main field. Several other fields with open pitches. The toilet block was very modern, clean and warm - excellent. Good sections for chemical toilet emptying and grey water waste. And an excellent motorhome drive over area. Lots of water taps. A barrier entry with code given on arrival. Small shop near the entrance. Friendly manager assisting with arrival. I’d definitely visit here again

Me gustó The whole site is very well thought out with a couple of separate meadows, good facilities block and Reception/small shop, playground and dog walk/ball pitch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I liked the drive up to the entrance barrier and the vehicle reg recognition system. Sheriff Hutton village and the pub and shop are walkable on a path.

No me gustó The only small point was WiFi is paid for per day/week for one device only. I paid £4 for 2 days but could have done with access for more than one device for that. Not sure why it’s restricted like that

Me gustó Everything about this park. The staff were top notch friendly and helpful. I was on pitch 8 where there several seasonal caravans but a couple more vans also arrived whilst I was there. The whole site was incredibly neat, tidy well maintained with gorgeous hanging baskets and planting around the park. I wax a solo traveller with my pooch and there was a fantastic dog walking field, with another dog walking lane at the other end of the park. Children were catered for so well with 2 play parks including a small football pitch, playground swings, roundabouts, climbing frames all set in sand. And most used of all a great zip line. Don’t think it was unused for many minutes in the day. The on-site shop was very well stocked with a wide range of goods. A play barn is near the entrance to site with a large are to play inside and pool table etc in that area. Near Reception/shop are one of the toilet/shower blocks with ample toilets and showers. Also a washing up station with plenty of sinks and an Elsan point for emptying of toilet cassettes. They have a motorhome point for emptying of grey tanks into a concreted drain and lots of drinking water points dotted throughout the site. Also near Reception is an information hut with tons of information leaflets, a free book swap and a hot drinks vending machine. I loved this place and would definitely revisit with my family and grandchildren. The only added bonus would be an on-site cafe/ restaurant but the shop sells all you need so this is just a wish list item. What a lovely site and a credit to the owners/managers/staff. And it’s only 2 miles from Helmsley which is another big thumbs up.

Me gustó Took my 8 year old granddaughter with me. We were located by the playground which was very handy on an electric hardstanding pitch. Loved the shop and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I filled up with water when I first arrived. The motorhome service point was great and situated next to the water tap I first used so easy to empty my grey waste. The Elsan point was behind the shower block. It had a great flush but was at sink level so was a bit awkward to lift the cassette onto and empty. Not too bad tho and I appreciated the stainless steel waste sink with easy to use water pipe/tap. The shower block is great. The woodland trails opposite the site are great with maps on site available. Would visit again

No me gustó Not disliked - but the picnic table could possibly do with treating so you don’t get a mucky butt. But this is just a small point. Would suggest a motorhome doesn’t turn left out of site to get to the motorway as this way goes down a VERY tight lane. A lorry had to back up to a passing spot to let me by. Again - not a dislike for the site but a tip for motorhomes/caravans….

Me gustó The holiday complex is lovely. I believe it has been completed in the last couple of years and been carried out to an excellent standard. The whole site is maintained immaculately with beautiful planting, well thought out pitches and the communal area is the best I’ve stayed in so far. All roadways and paths are tarmaced with good signage and lighting. There is a walled dog walking field with dog waste bin. Pitches 1-11 are all super pitches on hardstanding and with their own drain plus a couple of drive over drains for motorhomes too. The bin and Elsan point areas have plenty of bins and ate discreetly walled with the same dry stone walling and laurel hedging. The shower block with toilets also includes a fantastic kitchen area with everything you’d need appliance wise. There is also a lovely lounge area with tv if your own van signal isn’t strong enough. WiFi worked for me in my motorhome. The site also includes a couple of grass pitches with electric in a field behind the facilities. There are a number of holiday cottages which look amazing and I would consider booking one of these too. The local village of Chelmorten is a walk away and has a great pub - the Church Inn where I ate one of the days, and the food was great. Also on the campsite is a secure bike store with area for cleaning off muddy bikes and of course pooches if required… The only thing I could think of that would be an added bonus for families is a children’s play area which would take this campsite to another level for families. But they may want to keep it more for adults (I don’t know this) and of course that is entirely their choice. Just a sat nav tip - if you are coming from the Bakewell direction on the A6, keep on this road for a while rather than taking the smaller road just past Ashford in the Water. This small road is off to the left and up a hill (Kirk Dale I believe) and my sat nav directed me up there. The site isn’t far off the A6 if you stick to that road for a few miles on from this point. I paid £81 for 2 nights which I do feel is quite expensive. The nearest shop for supplies would be Buxton which is fairly close by to drive to.

Me gustó Very neat, clean and tidy. Playground. Walked around the lakes. Nice cafe bar. Staff very friendly and efficient. There were several types of additional accommodation which looked lovely too. Shepherd huts, pods and static caravans with hot tubs

Me gustó A peaceful setting. The site is being developed to build new lodges and as such has a lot of felled trees round the area. This didn’t detract from my stay though and the site will be lovely when the development is completed. The toilet block and facilities are excellent. A good Elsan point is in the same area, as is the grey waste drain. My pitch had a lovely grassy area as I chose a corner plot and I was able to tether my pooch on this. The office has a small collection of groceries for sale and on arrival you pay a £10 deposit for a gate key which is retuned when you leave. £1 of electricity is included in the booking and I bought an extra £3 the minimum). I stayed 1 night and only used half this amount (I have a tv and used the electric heater for a time).

No me gustó Not really a dislike, more an ideal ‘want’….I have a motorhome which is easiest when sites have a drive over drain to get rid of grey waste, so perhaps this would be something the site could consider providing, with the growing number of motorhomes around now.

Me gustó Lovely quiet, neat site. 6 EHU pitches each with hardstanding and grass strip with a picnic table which was lovely. Situated behind the Chequers Inn pub. The pub doesn’t serve food on Monday/Tuesday but we’d bought plenty of our own so no issue. Had a drink there and it had a cosy atmosphere. The small pub garden area is lovely too. Paved with flower borders and obviously well cared for. Highlight of the 2 days was seeing the landlady fly her beautiful hawk in the field next door both mornings. Lovely. The village has lovely properties both old and new with a 2nd pub as an option for eating. Fill up with water on the way into the campsite area. Each pitch has a small drain for waste water and I used my pipe extension to reach this in my MH. Turned it round to use this as my waste pipe was on the other side to the drain when I backed onto the pitch. Chemical disposal and another grey waste area at the back of the main car park. Someone had previously disposed of a cassette with kitchen roll in it which was unfortunate. Please make sure only thin toilet paper is used!!!! No shower facilities and the toilets are inside the pub but this is stated on the listing so I was aware and no issue to me. Plenty of places to walk the dogs. We reached open fields by walking up to the church and round the perimeter via a walkway. Children’s play area up there behind the church and good walking for the dogs Would definitely use this site again.

Me gustó Lovely quiet site on the riverbank. Very helpful site owner/landlord of the pub. WiFi worked in the pub but not on the campsite so just take note of that. Not an issue to me but could be for some. Friendly and helpful staff Small play frame for kids The grey water disposal will need a pipe if you have a motorhome with a large integral tank rather than a transportable one to empty - just a point to note

Me gustó Loved the very peaceful, small and friendly site. I liked that the gate was locked at all times with a passcode if you wanted to leave with your vehicle. The village of Brant Broughton is so pretty with a stunning spired church. Lovely coffee and cake at The Potting Shed and I had a lovely meal at The Generous Briton. I’d definitely go back to this little gem of a site again. It has good facilities with a summerhouse area with DVD’s for sale in support of the Air Ambulance. This area could do with a slight spruce up but nothing much. The rally field at the back is ideal for dog walking Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Poachers Patch
