Me gustó Great location. Right along a wonderful riverside cycle track. Lovely walk into the town, loads of restaurant and cafe options. Clean showers but take your own loo roll. Reception staff were lovely and helpful and spoke great English, as my French is basic.

No me gustó Take your own loo!!

Del administrador: Bonjour, Thank you for taking the time to share your review. We are delighted that you enjoyed our welcome, our riverside location, and the proximity to the cycle path and downtown shops! Indeed, as is sometimes the case in certain campsites, toilet paper is not provided in the shower blocks. However, we make sure that the facilities remain clean and functional throughout your stay. We look forward to welcome you back!

Me gustó The location of the site is excellent. On the side of a huge lake. A wonderful cycle track near by. Restaurants and bars in the marina to choose from and lovely restaurant on site. Good value for money, but then were used to UK silly prices!!

No me gustó Bathroom facilities were really basic especially considering the size of the site. There were very few toilets. No loo roll and the showers really need an update. Lots of mould and mildew!! The site had the potential to be a great 4 star but at the moment the facilities are 2 star!! Shame really.

Del administrador: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We will be completely renovating the three restroom facilities for the 2027 season to provide even greater comfort. Even though the buildings are old, we always make sure that they are very clean and with toilet paper as well. See you soon! The entire team at Le Lac Amance Campground

Me gustó Great site on the river Saone. Perfect for the cycle track. Shops nearby and several restaurants/cafe/bars to choose from. Onsite restaurant was very good, worth a visit.

No me gustó Bit basic.

Me gustó We had a one night stop over here and it was perfect for that. Basic facilities, take your own loo roll!! Small friendly site.

Me gustó Great site close to Calais terminal. We only did a one night stop over. Cure, small site with enthusiastic new owners. I hope they make a go of it. If you want to leave for an early train let them know on booking as they don't really allow exits before 7.00am

No me gustó Basic site but nice

Del administrador: Thank you very much for your lovely and encouraging review! We’re delighted that you enjoyed your stopover at our small campsite and really appreciate your kind words about what we are trying to achieve. We still have plenty of ideas and improvements planned, and we’re working on them step by step each year. You are also absolutely right to mention early departures. As we are a peaceful campsite with no vehicle movement between 10pm and 7am, guests needing to leave earlier should contact us in advance so that we can find a suitable solution whenever possible. Thank you for your encouragement and for staying at L’Orée des Caps. We hope to welcome you again and perhaps show you some of our future improvements! All the best, Aurélie & Fred

Me gustó Not much!! The site is nice, green space etc but the facilities are very bad and for £80 for two nights, extortionate!!! Nearby Frome is lovely. Worth a visit.

No me gustó £80 for two nights extortionate!! Not long back from France where a similar, very basic site would have been £10 a night MAX!! The showers!!! Who wants to shower where others can see through the glass panel and you have to open the door to access your towel and clothes!!! Toilets had no loo roll, which is acceptable if they tell you in advance!! Again something that should be reflected in the price!! And wasn't. We had grear expectations but were sadly very disappointed. We would not go back. As it is on a main road you can't either walk or cycle safely from the site. Driving is the only option. No phone signal either..... not their fault but a fact. Didn't see any sign of staff......entry is via a pin code sent via email on booking, including your pitch number, no human interaction..

Me gustó Lovely shady pitch, managed to get level. Swimming pool was a lovely treat. Shower block facilities were great.

No me gustó Pitches were a bit haphazard and some were quite uneven, which for a Motorhome isn’t great.

Me gustó Quiet site, all the amenities you need. We met the owner who came round to see us once we were established on our pitch. I like having the plot allocated in advance, saves rushing to get there for 1.00 to choose a pitch.

No me gustó Wifi was there but the signal wasn't great so we used our phones.

Del administrador: Thank you for your lovely review. We’re so pleased to hear you enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, facilities, and friendly welcome during your stay. It’s great to know you found the pre-allocated pitch helpful too – we know it takes the stress out of arriving and avoids the rush to choose a spot. Thank you also for your feedback regarding the WiFi, usually the WiFi is good across the site. We hope to welcome you back to Piccadilly again soon!
