Me gustó: Really amazing campsite. Small and quiet, right next to the river. Toilets and showers were clean and the composting loos didn't smell at all. Owners very friendly and helpful.

Me gustó: This was a beautiful stay. I felt perfectly safe as a solo female traveler and communication was very easy- I just texted a time when I needed picked up to cross the river and they appeared.
The couple were so friendly and the grounds are very quiet- places to swim and walk are bountiful. It is also in a sheltered valley so the it wasn't very windy. Loved the fire pit and watching the stars come out at night.

No me gustó: The shower is made with board with some gaps in between and so it was cold getting out!

Me gustó: As 4x4 owners, this site is almost a dream find. The access road is mostly gravel until you reach the river crossing. This is where normal cars will have to be left and a taxi ride sought from the site owners (more than willing to accommodate)
If you have a vehicle capable of the river crossing, you traverse the river and are welcomed by incredibly friendly owners and a site so perfectly located you'd be hard pressed to make it better.
Loo's, shower and a small honesty shop pretty much cover the facilities. Please remember this is an almost "wild" campsite, so the loo's and shower whilst absolutely functional and clean, are not "hotel" like.
Each pitch has its own firepit (logs available from the honesty shop) At the time of our visit the cost was £15 for two baskets of logs, kindling and firelighting equipment which was plenty for us for the night.
We were all sad to leave and all stated we would return again soon

Me gustó: Just off the A9 so great for day trips / hiking days but feels v remote as you have to cross a river in wellies to get on site (or in a 4x4). Feels like wild camping with the benefit of a compost toilet and gas shower!
Our plot had trees for a hammock and a small area by the river for fishing.
Love the fire pits & shop with drinking water & wood.
Easy communication with hosts for lifts across the river for taking all our camping stuff over at the beginning and end of the trip!
Would 100% recommend for a semi- wild camp trip!

Me gustó: We just returned from our stay at Dall Cottage, and would highly recommend it!
It gives the feel of wild camping, but you get to have a hot shower and compost toilet, which is ideal.
All the pichups are by the river, and each has their own bonfire.

To get there you need to cross a shallow river, but the owners will come with their 4x4 to take you across. It is walkable, but you'll need wellies and to take it slowly as its a bit slippy. We manages just fine.

There is also a little honesty shop where you can buy wood and kindling, mosquito repellants, soft drinks and marshmallow toasting kits.

The owner were absolutly lovely, and we'll look forward to staying there again in the future!

Me gustó: I visited here for a night with my 7 year old son and will definitely return. We both loved it, it gave him a real sense of adventure, walking along by the river, crossing the Ford and the fire pit. The remote feeling is what a lot of people need these days to get away from technology. Gives the wild camping feel with the convenience of a toilet and shower, also the honesty shop had some handy things although I didn’t need to use it. One night stay but memories for life. Big 👍 from us.

Me gustó: Beautiful place, beautiful views, many paths to walk. Small shop very practical, toilets clean and fragrant. The owners are very helpful and their sons are role models.

No me gustó: The only thing that was a bit bothersome were the trains that ran every few dozen minutes not far from the tent and the noise of the expressway. Most severe at night. I think this information should be in the description of the place.

Me gustó: We enjoyed an amazing 4 night stay here whilst visiting Blair Horse trials, it was mine & my daughters first ever time camping and we couldn't have chosen a better place, the site is immaculate Tabitha & her family are so welcoming everything has been so well thought out, lovely hot shower & clean facilities, a great little shop to buy logs for the fire pit & other little treats. The location is stunning we could not have asked for anything more.
