Me gustó Staff were nice, also enjoyed having a sheep friend next to us. Toilet block was good. Good location for doing parkrun in next door park.

No me gustó Unfortunately, our experience was not a positive one. The site was difficult to find, and on arrival we were greeted by a man who appeared to run the site. We found his manner unwelcoming and quite abrupt, which immediately made us feel uncomfortable.

The entrance area was untidy, with various scrap items and vehicles visible, which did not create a great first impression. During our conversation, he asked several personal questions about our jobs before requesting payment, which felt intrusive.

We were also told, with a laugh, that there were four cockerels on site that would likely wake us at 4am. We were then advised that if the first shower did not warm up, we should get dressed, leave, and try another shower instead. This did not inspire confidence in the facilities.

As a couple, we felt increasingly uneasy and decided to leave rather than stay overnight. The overall appearance of the site and the welcome we received did not make us feel comfortable or relaxed, so we chose to find alternative accommodation.

Me gustó We stayed in a large tent, and the pitch size we were allocated was generous, the showers and toilets were good sized, there were 4 seperate units, always had toilet roll and clean (minus the cobwebs but thats outdoor facilities).

We were welcomed onto the site, (phoned on arrival) and shown to our pitch, the owner was great with the kids and interacted with them, and answered our questions about the local area.
The area was well maintained and quiet.

Its a 10minutes drive to Warminster where we went to the splash park and play park, kids loved it, large morrisons also.

Local pubs and short drive for fish and chips.

Me gustó Good location for local amenities and attractions.clean Stocked toilets and shower. Plenty for kids to do at park next door and also book in advance for dog park too.

Me gustó Interesting arrival entrance, don’t be put off by the mannequin 😂 Scary was very friendly and a very helpful host, willing to go the extra mile to make sure you’re happy and knows the best local place to eat, got us booked in at short notice and the food at the 3 horseshoes was first class. Toilet facilities very clean but basic. Mains hook up worked well without issue. Fresh water available. Very happy campers.

Me gustó Really had a lovely time, the owner was amazing and made us feel really welcome.
Even brought us over some puppies to have a cuddle with.

Me gustó Owner was flexible with use of fire pit

No me gustó I first arrived on my own and the owner was very chatty. I thought he was just a bit of a character at first but then he started asking me how old I was, telling me I looked younger, asking whether I was married, do I have children etc. He kept coming over to watch me put up my tent, not offering to help, just watching me. Later he told me he prefers younger women than women of his age and he made a joke about putting a hedgehog in my tent at night.

He said hello to my dog nicely and then made out like she was sniffing his crotch when she clearly wasn’t.
When my friends arrived, he came over again and stood very close to me while I was bent over using the air pump. I felt really uncomfortable, like he was staring down my top. I moved round but he kept staring.

There is a mannequin when you come into the entrance. The owner has dressed the mannequin in lingerie and handcuffs and told me that someone had shot its face off with a shotgun.

With all this combined, we just felt quite uncomfortable around him and if I had been on my own I would not have stayed the night. Luckily I had my dog with me and my friends in the tent next door.
We stayed civil to him and left early the next morning.

In terms of the site itself, as others have said it is very basic for the money we paid. We didn’t use the showers due to feeling uncomfortable so can’t comment on those.
There is a main road nearby which was noisy the whole night through - take ear plugs!
I’d also recommend strong insect repellent as there were lots of midges where we were.

We will not be going back and I personally would not recommend young women stay there alone. He may have not done anything further than comments and looking but it didn’t feel professional or comfortable either way.
