Avon Valley Adventure Park

Me gustó: After hours access to park and the bar was great. Food on site was delicious. Was great to hire explorer tent so didn't have to set up our own tent and beds etc.

No me gustó: Facilities (toilets and showers) were very basic. Toilets in Base Camp overflowed but we're quickly sorted.

Me gustó: Entry to the park 24hrs is amazing, and makes this place unique. Amazing for our kids aged 4&6 yrs. Camping and park felt really safe and relaxed. Great area with lots of amenities close by. Flourish farm shop (which is basically next door) is superb.
Tent was great quality.
Bar food was tasty and priced well.
Lovely riverside walk.

No me gustó: Rustic toilets kept blocking however you could use the toilets inside the park so not a major issue.
One shower was cold all the time which limited us to one shower however never struggled to get a shower when we needed it.

Me gustó: - Kids were so excited to have after-hours access to the park - a real treat for them. Dinosaurs, trampolines, rides... it was excitement to the max!
- One of the best family holidays - honestly what this site lacks in rural beauty it most certainly makes up for in activities for young kids. We stayed for two nights and could have easily stayed for another 2 nights. There is plenty to do!
- There is a Waitrose within easy walking distance and we had a fantastic Sunday lunch at "Haywards at the Grasmere" further into town.
- The park warden was very helpful and friendly
- Good for BBQ'ing. Good mix of families, very friendly folk. Absolute winner for a family with young kids (under 8). We will be back!

No me gustó: - The showers are 'rustic' (as per the description). It's not the Ritz, we're talking outdoors shower in single cubicles here. But the water was warm, the shower was clean and the pressure was good, so no complaints.
- Toilets were clean but I don't think there were enough of them to cover the number of people staying at the site.
- Again, not the most beautiful place to stay - we were essentially camping in the extension of the park's parking area. Nevertheless, it was quiet, clean and no one comes here for the idyllic rural setting anyways - it's all about the kids' excitement and it does exactly what it promises to do in that regard!

No me gustó: There are 5 toilets blocks, some can’t lock and one can’t flush. And the shower blocks is quiet cold as they’re outdoor blocks…

As it was our opening weekend, we faced a number of unforeseen delays that unfortunately impacted some areas of the campsite including facility readiness. That said our showers are advertised as outdoor blocks so I'm sorry you were expecting something else, I will review our listing to ensure that is very apparent.

While the campsite didn't meet the standard we would usually expect, we hope you enjoyed access to the adventure park and all it had to offer.

No me gustó: Everything - pitches weren’t safe, many cables on the ground, toilettes were basic and doors wouldn’t close so people could come in while occupied, showers were disgusting, the sinks were dirty, the employees were not helpful … we lasted one night and had to leave - waste of time and money.

Me gustó: - the staff could not have been helpful and kind. Nobody could do enough to make our stay pleasant
- variety of activities for the young ones - slip in slide, foam party, go karts, tractor rides, dinosaur walks, climbing frames, soft play etc… there was so much to do.
- access after hours was great, we could enjoy a drink while the kids played in the sand, soft play and climbing frames.
-campsite was clean- toilets, rustic shower and wash area were all well maintained.
-nice you could have a fire pit and they even provided wood. (Very kind staff even showed me how to put the fire together)
- pizza bar in the evening was brilliant.
- really was a great family stay all round and would definitely go back.

No me gustó: - the bar was very expensive at £6 a pint ,so we didn’t have too many drinks at the bar (but would have liked to) and the pumps weren’t great so the pint regally wasn’t worth it. There is a happy hour but think that once the campsite closes to the day guests it should stay at happy hour prices rather than peak theme park prices.
- when they had a private function the kids couldn’t use the soft play in the evening, I get they hire it out but think the small group of children staying in the campsite could have used it too, as they were all just sat waiting for it to open for them.

Me gustó: Having access to the park outside of hours was the real draw to booking here and it did not disappoint.There's so much to see and do, the children were never short of activities. The trip was fantastic value for money.

The campsite itself was basic but well maintained and the facilities were looked after. Staff, on the whole, were extremely friendly and helpful both onsite and in the park.

No me gustó: The small grass pitches were not clearly signposted and it took us (and other families) a little while to find our pitches.

Better signposting/information on opening times for food and drink facilities is necessary. For example, when we went to order food at 4.30, we were told that they had stopped serving food and would reopen at 5.30 with the evening menu. This was not signed anywhere. We walked around to the bar (which appeared open, staff were behind the bar chatting) but were completely ignored, to which we summised that the bar too, reopened at 5.30 (though staff did not have the courtesy to tell us as we waited)

All of this bad feeling could be easily avoided with clear signage.

Similarly, be aware that breakfast stops being served at 11am and lunch does not begin until 12pm, again, I had to ask to find this out as there was no signage.

Me gustó: Access to the children's park for two days and after hours access. Great food and staff were friendly and park wasn't too busy so kids could go on and off activities as they wanted. They loved the foam party & slip and slide.

No me gustó: Didn't realise we'd be camping in a car park. Toilets and showers could be better but the after hours park access made up for this. Overall the camping section of the trip was expensive.

Me gustó: Lots of daily activities for children to enjoy, very clean around the park. Food and drink choices were good throughout the day and reasonable prices. Staff very friendly and helpful.

No me gustó: Camping area was a bit neglected. Lots of stinging nettles around the area where we stopped, grass not very well maintained. No facilities to get a drink while park was closed, a vending machine would have been good. Very dark at night so unable to walk to toilet blocks safely with children with guide ropes and nettles everywhere. Nothing really to do of an evening. Advised you to wash hands regularly but not all wash stations had water. No wifi
