Clifftop Camping

Me gustó: As a single lady in a car camper, I was welcomed on to the Clifftop campsite . If you are looking for tranquil stunning off-grid site with the minimum facilities this one is for you. Composting toilet and a tap, all you really need. I parked near the cliff edge with views out to the the Forts. Best nights sleep i've had for ages. Will be going back

No me gustó: The cliff edge may put families with young children off. I didn't mind it and would have gone there with my family including young children. As a working farm no dog policy. this didn't bother me

Me gustó: Fantastic views. Very quiet and friendly welcome. Exactly as described. Off grid camping perfect for relaxing. Great to have a fire.

Me gustó: Amazing place. Completely off grid. We were totally self sufficient in our motor caravan. Peace & quiet, nothing but the birds & sea to look at. Other campers but felt very secluded as you can really spread out. Definitely re visit this year. Thank you.

Me gustó: Incredible views over the Thames estuary, you are able to see sunrise and sunset from your pitch (weather depending!). Proper off grid style, camp where you want and with so much space, you can guarantee privacy. There were also fire pits dotted about which you can use, I believe fire wood is available to buy on site too. Owner was friendly, and overall this is just the sort of place we love to camp at.

No me gustó: Although elsan points are not listed as available, this would be a nice option to have, even if you had to pay a surcharge to use it. As it was, the compost toilets were fine and we emptied the cassette toilet when at home. The road in was fairly bumpy, probably not so much an issue to cars/vans but if you have a touring caravan it's more of a concern. Just take it slow!

Me gustó: A perfect site. The views are spectacular, compostable toilets and a tap. Possibly one of the best sites I have ever stayed at.

No me gustó: Someone had misused the compost toilets over the weekend- we arrived on the Sunday and it was a mess- I love a compost toilet but this put me right off. A group of people had been using the woods as a toilet also. Can’t blame the site but why would people do this? It’s such a shame. Spoilt what would have otherwise been a lovely break. I feel sorry for the owner who will have to clear up their mess. Made me a bit nervous about revisiting. Which is a shame as it is a lovely site.
