Newlands Valley Campsite

Me gustó Lovely chilled site with beautiful scenery. Facilities were good. Great place for children. There was always staff handy who were very helpful.

Me gustó Nice atmosphere, great to be able to hire fire pits and buy wood on site. Pretty site, short walk up the hill to the pub. Showers powerful and hot. Water taps around site. Rural/ wild camping vibe but with toilets and showers etc!

Me gustó Liked that it’s pick your own pitch as my friend is a snorer 🤣 toilets and showers. Nice fire pits to hire. Very close to catbells with a perfect view of it from the pitch.

Me gustó Great location, facilities -water, showers and toilets.
The pub is just a 10-minute walk, and there are great walks from the campsite.

Me gustó Choice of an adult only field

Access to good hiking routes.

Walking distance to Keswick (30 mins or so).

Good basic campsite. Facilities ideal.

Nothing to dislike.

The guys running it (presume owners) very nice.

Me gustó Location and size of field...level and few stones so easy to pitch up

No me gustó Facilities.
Site has two fields , had over 100 pitches up, min 2 person a tent, majority have 3 or 4, especially families

1 sink to wash in...tepid water...
No drying facilities
4 showers
4 male toilets...most had broken seats/ broken toilet holders.

1 block of 2 had no running water...I'm sure that breaching H&S

If I wanted to know what camping in 1975 was like, I now know

Won't be returning to this site again

We are really sorry to hear you didn't have a pleasant experience.

We did have 2 families that had 4 tents and 2 rather large gazebos which did make the field feel fuller but there are rules and regulations we have to stick too.

Our showers and toilets are the very best we can hire and so far we have had great feedback. We don't advertise drying facilities either so that maybe why you are disappointed you didn't locate these.

We really hope you find a more suitable campsite in the future maybe a more commercial site that will suit your expectations, but please do expect to pay more.

Me gustó The location , it's beautiful. The friendly welcome. The facilities we were told ( previous reviews) were basic, but they were clean and worked so didn't need anything more. The showers were super hot with good pressure too. We even had sunshine. I'd recommend taking insect repellent as the midges joined us on an evening 😜
