A peaceful rural camping spot, but one that doesn't involve negotiating lots of little country lanes? What you need is a pitch at East End Farm Campsite, in the East Yorkshire countryside just on the edge of the village of Garton-on-the-Wolds. This quiet and spacious site is easily accessed from the A166, so it's straightforward to get in and out for your days of walking the Yorkshire Wolds, exploring nearby stately homes (of which there are many) or heading over to the coast. On a more practical level it also means it’s easy to get into Driffield (five minutes’ drive) for a place to eat or to pick up supplies at the shops for meals back at base. This location isn't all about the simplicity of driving – it’s also a handy spot for those who'd like to get out on foot or by bike. The Yorkshire Wolds Way and Way of the Roses cycle trail are both close by, and there are plenty more walking and bike routes to explore nearby too (with golf, fishing and horse riding also close by for a change of activity). The campsite has been nicely thought out, with different areas designated for adults and family groups to ensure a comfortable experience for all, and a good collection of facilities including heated bathrooms and a kitchen area with a fridge, microwave and washing machine. Dogs are welcome, and you should find plenty of places to walk them nearby.

I'm confused:
✅ Location. You state 'good location for Driffield' and give us 8/10. Geography is Geography & the site is immovable! Our website and advertising states exactly where we are.
❓ Accommodation. 8/10 - Not understood: your brought your own tent.
🙋‍♂️ Wifi. We provide site-wide, FREE wifi & the Password is readily available.
❓ Child friendliness. You were in the ADULTS only paddock, so this shouldn't have been an issue.
🙋‍♂️Showering. THREE showers were open and available throughout your stay.
❓ Cleaning regime. We too would not wish to clean at periods of high use BUT not all visitors wipe down (kitchen, washbasin, shower - or even collect litter from their pitch). We check our facilities regularly and clean as necessary.
🙋‍♂️ Customer experience. Of the 62 reviews posted here, 61 customers commented very favourably. The 'cleaning lady' you refer to is the owner!

Me gustó We had a fabulous 3 night stay. Very nice owners who were friendly and helpful. Great facilities , showers and toilets were modern and very clean. A great kitchen area for washing pots which included a microwave and sockets for phone charging etc if you are not staying on a pitch with electric hook up. Just a short drive into the town of Driffield where there are lots of shops pubs and eateries. Would definitely recommend staying at east end farm campsite.

Me gustó What a fantastic little site! So clean and well-thought out. Shower and washing facilities were excellent. Me and my little dog felt very safe and the pitch sizes were large enough that we had our privacy while also being able to speak to other campers who were passing by. Owner very helpful. Me gustó Love the site clean toilets showers and washing up area, has a fridge in the wash area if you aren’t on electric and a microwave for the baby’s or little ones dinners. All fenced in so the kids can roam. 20/30min drive to the coast. Also has WiFi for the kids that can’t live without.

Me gustó A warm welcome on arriving from the owners. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Easy to find campsite (it was signposted from the road) with a 5 minute drive to the nearest town which had a selection of restaurants, shops and supermarkets. It has two area - one that is solely for campers without children. It was very quite except for a distance hum of farm machinery at work and the occasional owl and birdsong. Roughly 30 mins from the beach at Bridlington and 45 mins from York. There are plenty of walks locally with many churches and historic buildings to visit.

Me gustó The campsite was easy to find and signposted from the road. Welcoming friendly owners. The facilities was very clean and modern with toilets, showers and washing up area. Also has a washing machine, microwave available to use. Site is quiet (has both children and adults only sections). The local town is 8 mins drive and has shops, restaurants and supermarkets with bridlington beach just over 30 min and york 40 mins away.

There’s some lovely scenery to explore around the chalk hills of the Yorkshire Wolds, so it’s a fine area for a walk or a bike ride. If you’d like to get around in a different way, you could sign up for horse riding from Woldgate Trekking & Livery Centre (20 minutes’ drive) or take a heritage railway ride from the Yorkshire Wolds Railway museum (10 minutes). This area is rich in historic buildings to visit too – your stately home tour might take you to places like Sledmere House (10 minutes), Burton Agnes Hall (15 minutes), Castle Howard (35 minutes) and Burton Constable Hall & Grounds (40 minutes). For green-fingered types, Burnby Hall Gardens (25 minutes) is the place to go, with lakes, a walled garden and an Edwardian rock garden. For days out with the kids, try a Highland cow safari at Dumble Farm (20 minutes), traditional seaside antics at Bridlington beach (25 minutes) or a look at underwater life at The Deep aquarium in Hull (45 minutes).
