Me gustó: Idillic pitch, sheltered from the weather. Toilets and showers were good and we loved the campfire setup. Private pitches as well which really make a difference to usual campsites.

Me gustó: Amazing woodland location and very private pitches. Liked that amplified music was banned, so it meant you could enjoy the birdsong.

Toilets very clean
Starter fire pit box excellent value for money.

No me gustó: Noise from neighbouring sites (until 2am)
Distance from car park (pitch32)
Uneven and rutted pitch, easy fix
Gate is extremely fiddly (low grade combo lock) and on a downward slope making it very difficult for motorcycle camping as ground is soft and uneven.

Me gustó: Literally dreamy location. Site well organised, basic but great facilities for off grid camping.
Lots of wildlife and privacy within pitches.
Will definitely be booking again.

No me gustó: Lack of rubbish disposal, but easy enough to bring home.

Sorry to hear you found there was a lack of rubbish disposal. We have 2 large commercial rubbish bins at the front gate which are normally sufficient.

Me gustó: I have loved this campsite for nearing ten years. It has changed a great deal since then, however, still remains the tranquil, picturesque and well managed camp site it always was. Perfect for small families or sedate couples who don’t mind a small hike from your car. Harry especially was kind and helpful.

No me gustó: Despite the expansion, they still have the same two showers and toilets that they always have had and in my opinion, not enough for the amount of users. They also still have the same wheelbarrows and again, they need more now(you use them to travel to your pitch from your car).

It's really great to hear you've been staying with us for nearly 10 years! we really appreciate your loyalty as a customer.

We agree on the numbers of showers and toilets, which is why we're in the process of adding an extra toilet/shower at the front of the site. Unfortunately, that's delayed but will hopefully be completed by summer.

We will see how this year goes and review if we still need more next year.

We've also noticed when the site is busy with arrivals that there is a shortage of wheelbarrows so we have some on order.

We like to keep the campsite as light pollution free as possible to give it the 'wild camping' feel.

I'm sorry to hear you found the pitch uncomfortable. All our different pitches make it unique (unlike a giant field filled with campers) however as the land was previously used to quarry, some pitches aren't 100% level.

Me gustó: The site is well maintained and beautifully rural, the wildlife clearly love it and it was a joy to be able to listen to and watch the birds during my stay. Harry was friendly and helpful. I will be back!

Me gustó: Greeted by Harry, such a lovely guy welcomed me and shown me the bunker and a quick breaf about where things are. Such a lovely location, great way to connect with the nature and away from city lights.

Me gustó: Tranquil and relaxed site completely immersed in nature. Pitches are separated by banks and trees and invisible to one another. The site Manager, Harry, was welcoming and very obliging. We ordered firewood in advance of our stay and when we arrived it had been very carefully stored in waterproof bins.
The WW1 trench tour was truly interesting - Ian, the guide was extremely knowledgable and had put a lot of effort into showing us all aspects of life in the trenches.

No me gustó: A little bit of road noise but it really wasn't a bother. It certainly wouldn't put us off staying again.
