Me gustó: We loved our stay here! The staff were really helpful and accommodating. Farm shop is great and has everything there if you have forgotten anything (like we did).

Me gustó: Friendly staff who ensured we felt welcome. The shop was well stocked. They went the extra mile for my clumsy requests.

No me gustó: Shame there weren’t ground rules for the youngsters partying past 12am next to us

Del administrador: Thank you for your review - apologies for the noisy group, as stated on the last review we limit the party numbers booking but they can still all meet on separate bookings - we do have ground rules and as already stated I am a phone call away to sort out if needs be, as a rule we have a well behaved, respectful campsite

No me gustó: Noise, noise, noise. Bank holiday weekend so I guess it was busier than usual but in my opinion, just too many groups of people there just to get pi**ed up, play music till late and generally not give a sh*t about others on the site. Usually campsites operate a rule of keep noise to a minimum after a certain time but not here unfortunately. Toilets/facilities are bare bones basic too.

Del administrador: Thank you for your review, comments noted - we do operate a quiet time with it being a family campsite, we state quiet time after 11pm, I'm sorry you experienced a noisy group, we have a limit on people booking in one group but it doesn't stop them making multiple bookings and meeting up, my phone is always on in case of any disturbance for me & my husband to come and sort & we would have done if notified - we do only state on our site info that we are a back to basics campsite which you have stated which also reflects on the prices given - our facilities are basic, but clean

Me gustó: Great views. Location. Farm shop. Fires allowed. Friendly hosts. Pub 10 mins down the road and walking distance to the Roaches. Clean well stocked toilets. Listen to the various wild fowl on the lakes.

No me gustó: Water-logged ground and vehicle tracks. Congested parking due to poor weather. I appreciate the host cannot be held responsible for the weather but probably need to look into larger hard standing for vehicles due to the change in our weather patterns

Del administrador: Thank you for your review & lovely photos - comments noted, unfortunately the month's rain in 24hrs that we had on the Wednesday previous just didn't give the field time to dry up before arrivals coming in on the Thursday, the previous weekend had been glorious everyone drove on & off with no issues - we are going to speak with pitch-up to see if we can have a separate allocation for the camper vans with having limited hard standing as on our booking sheet it unfortunately doesn't state what is arriving, be it tent or camper

Me gustó: Good place for camping. Beautiful views, very easy access. Staff very friendly and helpful. Showers clean. We only stayed there for a weekend but it was nice.

No me gustó: The toilets were constantly clogged and the flushers did not work in our field. One main thing we don't like is the fishing ban and that's one of the reasons we chose this place. After arrival, we received information that fishing was not allowed, but there was no information on the website. The most annoying thing was that someone else was fishing throughout our stay. If there is one rule for one person, it should apply to everyone.

Del administrador: Thank you for your review - comments noted - no one came to me in the shop to say we had any issues with the toilets - with regards to the fishing on Pitch-up's Site info on the booking page in the description it clearly states that the pools will be closed when the fish are spawning which is usually late May to early June, it is not something that can be put an exact date on, my bailiff was the only one on the pools that I had asked to come to make sure that the rules were adhered to as only the week before we found that someone had illegally fished with a makeshift set up that would have harmed the fish - the fishing is run separately to the camping & I have strict rules

Me gustó: We booked months in advance for a camper, arrived to an unpassable water logged field. While I accept the site is not responsible for weather, I don't accept no call to warn. They tried to pitch us on the boggy field, having realised we would get stuck offered us some gravel but would need to move at 4pm that day! Was told I should have booked a large pitch. I booked via pitch up staring campervan & measurements of said van. We waited 45 minutes to reach some conclusion given it was a Bank Holiday weekend to then be issued a refund minus pitchup deposit., even though we booked weeks in advance. Pre warning field was flooded would have been the polite thing to do prior to us having a wasted journey. My advice if there has been rain do not waste your time.

Del administrador: Comments noted, apologies again, unfortunately even though you book as a campervan when booking it does not show on your booking confirmation at this end, it tells us what your booking details are with regard to contact details etc, pitch type as non-electric, grass tent, campervan or trailer tent, so not specifying which. Arrival date, party No's & price paid. We had had on the Wednesday a month's worth of rain in 24hrs, as you state we can not be responsible for the weather. I agree that a phone call would have sufficed but not sure if I could have got through all the bookings before Friday. Hopefully we will be able to resolve the booking issue with pitch-up with regards to campervans so that we know what is coming as we have limited hardstanding, if possible put campervans on a separate allocation. The previous weekend was beautiful with the field dry and no issues.

Me gustó: Lovely field, friendly owner, amazing farm shop and clean facilities surrounded by gorgeous views! Waking up to cows in the field next to us was lovely! A gem of a place to stay!

Me gustó: Spectacular location, the views, lake, sunset and sunrises. You couldn’t have picked a more budget friendly place to stay. This is a working farm, walking up to all those animals, the farm shop, lake and beautiful views, is all worth it. Can’t fault the people running it, they’re so kind, caring and accommodating in every way. The farm shop is a must. If you want back to basic, with a view, peace and back to nature, then this is the place. Plus close to everything. Pub 10 mins walk down the road, The Roaches in front of you to wake up to 😊
