Cuckoo Farm Campsite

Me gustó: Friendly campsite owners . Well filled shop. Shower and toilet facilities were clean and modern.

No me gustó: No chemical deposit toilet. Onsite campers were using the bushes to depose of there chemical toilet.

Me gustó: This was our 2nd stay and once again it didn’t disappoint. This place is beautiful and relaxing, with a stream running along the bottom of the field with rope swing's and a shallow area for the kids, adults and the dog to paddle around. Even when the place is fully booked it never seems to busy with plenty of green space to play, walk and socialise. The farm shop is well stocked with all your basics, incase you’ve forgotten something. It sells a selection of beers and wines and also has an on site butchery with fresh seasonal meats (sausages burgers etc. We had some venison burgers this time around and they were excellent. There is a frozen meat section also with a choice of roasting joints and venison steaks which we also took home with us.The shop also providesa good selection of coffees, hot chocolates etc. The site facilities are excellent also and very well maintained by Andy and Karen who live on site and are lovely and friendly. They are in charge of the day to day running of the site and are very accommodating with nothing being too much trouble. There is a large games tent with table football (free) and a table tennis table (balls are £1) and can be purchased at the shop. This is a working farm and the site has deer, goats and sheep literally in the field next to the pitches so kids can interact and watch them being fed by Roland (the owner) who is also very friendly. All in all I can’t recommend this place enough it has everything you’d want for a quiet relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings. We will definitely be back soon.

Me gustó: Site quiet as advertised. Facilities very clean and practical. Karen and her husband could not have been more helpful, especially when my car would not start! Would give this site a priority for a future visit to the area.

Me gustó: Brilliant campsite. Clean facilities and staff very friendly. Being a working farm and seeing the animals is great for the children.

Me gustó: Second visit to this site. Absolutely stunning place, fabulous facilities, lovely farm shop. Fantastic, friendly farmer Roland, assisting children with lamb feeding and showing around the farm, which my daughter absolutely loved. Lovely river running through the campsite, fantastic for paddling in.

Me gustó: Good location ( 15 minutes drive to Stamford ), excellent toilet and shower facilities, excellent WiFi signal ( even on the pitch although I did choose the pitch closest to the building for that reason). Pay as you go dishwasher looked like a good idea ( although I didn't use it ) There was an on site shop ( although I didn't use it ) which is open for two " bursts" each day .

Me gustó: Plenty of space in attractive setting, large herd of deer grazing in a paddock along the drive. River along one side. Tranquil. Toilets/showers clean and spacious. Not busy late April, so I could choose my own pitch.

Me gustó: Very clean site, lovely little toilet/shower block. Small shop on site selling local produce. Loved that it was on a little farm so could see sheep, lambs, goats and deer! Small river running though so was lovely to sit and listen to that. Lovely couple looking after it, very attentive. Took us 20 minutes to get to Rutland water

No me gustó: Nothing to do with the site itself, but during our stay, we had lots of children shouting and shining torches at our vehicle till late, and then someone playing music at 3am. There is a train line which runs parallel to the site, with trains running regularly in the evening. Could definitely hear it but didn’t necessarily bother us.
