Me gustó: Location, farm shop, pitches, view

No me gustó: No hot water to wash up and showers although they were beautifully located in the woods, they were boiling hot and didn't feel like ,y children could use them for fear of being scalded. Fine for adults and I’m not complaining for myself just to make children especially young children aware.

Me gustó: What an amazing place to stay. The scenery was spectacular, the food fantastic, and the facilities, although basic, were clean and more than sufficient for my stay. I’ve always been interested in organic produce which was in abundance in the shop, and the self same produce being served up in the cafe. If you have a dog this is not the place for you. However, although I’m a dog lover, it was nice not to have to deal unruly dogs and their owners. Will most definitely be back.

Me gustó: Booked for a father daughter post-SATS overnight camp. Easy check-in at the farm shop, with very friendly and helpful staff. Check in was quick, with a nice little map to help us get to the site by car (access is via a gate set further down the main road). Offered fire pit hire without having to ask, £12 for a fire pit and bag of wood that lasted us the evening. Getting to the gated access and onto the site was very easy, we chose to pitch up the main field, no cars allowed on the field but wheelbarrows made moving our kit easy - and we could pitch up where we liked, plenty of space. This is a back to basics experience, a which is clear in the description - loos were clean, washing area was useful, we didn’t make use of the showers but they were as described. Great view from our tent across the fields, great sunset, big night sky! Ideal for what we wanted. Short walk to the farm shop through the woods, we popped back after setting up and picked up some ice creams - again very attentive staff, asked if we had set up ok and had everything we needed - greta service! Thanks for a great stay!

Me gustó: Great open space, huge field full of flowers with views over the countryside. Very peaceful and loads of room for the kids to run around. The 30 minute trail around the farm and through the woods was also a hit, especially before bedtime. Toilets and washing up areas were clean.

Me gustó: The 'leave no trace' ethos. Good value for money. Very friendly people in the farm shop when I checked in. Facilities were perfectly adequate, although it wasn't busy when I was there.

No me gustó: The track down to the camping fields. The road noise. The inconsiderate behaviour of the people playing football for 4 hours on Saturday evening (obviously not AHF's fault). Would have preferred the view of rolling hills, but campervanners are put in a long narrow field with hedges.

Me gustó: Peaceful site, rural location with pleasant views of countryside.
Cafe at farm shop is good for morning coffees or breakfasts from 9am.
Recommended walks possible from site using sketch map on board outside shop.
Cold water drinking supply was good.
Budget price.

No me gustó: Composting toilets reached by climbing seven steps, so not handy for less agile or disabled. There is a flushing toilet in farm shop, reached by woodland walk of c. 10 minutes, available 9 till 5.
Gas showers are very open air, so not appealing in colder weather.
Camping area accessed by gates with coded padlock, along uneven track.

Del administrador: Thanks for the feedback. We do have a fully accessible compost loo at the campsite for those that need it, just not visible from the main loo. Great to hear you enjoyed your stay.

Me gustó: Lovely site, lots of slave, beautiful walks through the farm and woodlands. Really friendly, helpful staff and lovely farm shop/cafe on site. Very good value for money. Facilities are very basic but fine for me in a camper-van with own facilities.

Me gustó: Large area to park the van. Level field Plenty of room so not too close to fellow campers.

No me gustó: Would have liked a scoop for the sawdust in the toilets!

Me gustó: We stayed in the campervan field but in a tent. It was nice to have the option as the tent field is a car free zone and our tent is heavy! Although plenty of wheelbarrows are available to move your stuff if you want to enjoy the view in the tent meadow.

We had a very chilled stay even though the field was relatively busy over the Easter weekend

Composting loos were kept clean and were absolutely fine - (just a heads up that loo roll isn't provided which is fine for the price but worth knowing before arrival!)

It's a short walk to the lovely farm shop (prices are as you would expect for a farm shop in the cotswolds)

Fab back to basics camping in a great area!
Definitely would visit again
