Whether your Peak District plans include investigating caverns, hiking through limestone ravines or eating plenty of Bakewell tarts (or, indeed, all three), Lower Kempshill Farm makes an excellent base. Guests at this peaceful pet-friendly farm stay can expect star-filled nights when the conditions are right and waking up to the sounds of sheep bleating or horses neighing. For many people, visiting the Peak District National Park is all about the outdoor activities, and there are plenty of those around, with the Pennine Bridleway a short walk away and plenty more walking or cycling trails in the local area (including the popular Monsal Trail, 10 minutes' drive away). You may also be pleased to hear that it’s an easy 20-minute stroll to the local village pub. Tideswell and the spa town of Buxton are both 10 minutes’ drive from the site, and it’s about 20 minutes to Bakewell, home of those famous puddings and tarts. All three have places to eat out if you like, or you can stock up on supplies to take back to the farm. After all, your caravan accommodation is kitted out with a fully equipped kitchen (including crockery, cutlery and pans) to make self-catering nicely straightforward, and it’s got both indoor and outdoor tables to cater for all weathers. Inside this cosy cabin is pretty much everything you’ll need for a comfy stay – beds are made up, towels are provided and there’s heating to keep things nice and warm even on chilly days. The lounge area has a TV and sofa, with the rest of the caravan containing two bedrooms and a bathroom.

Me gustó We spent 4 nights at Lower Kempshill Farm and found everything we needed there.
The caravan was clean, and the bedding smelled lovely and fresh. Fresh towels and a fully equipped kitchen were waiting for us. The first night was chilly, but we were able to warm up by the fireplace, and central heating was also available.
The caravan is set in a wonderful spot with easy access to anywhere you might want to go in the nearby Peak District. For us, it served as a great base for exploring both the hills of the Peak District and North Wales/Snowdonia.
We stayed there as a family of four (2+2) with a dog, and everyone came back extremely happy. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.
Highly recommended!

Bring your boots and/or bikes, because there are lots of great trails around this area. You may like to walk through the limestone ravine at Chee Dale (10 minutes’ drive), hike up Mam Tor (20 minutes) or take a stroll around Bamford Edge (25 minutes) for a viewpoint overlooking Derwent Reservoir. For cyclists, the Monsal Trail (10 minutes) is very popular, running along the route of a former railway. Drop in a bit of heritage as well with outings to Buxton (10 minutes), home to a museum and a lively opera house, the ‘plague village’ of Eyam (15 minutes) and the Chatsworth Estate (20 minutes). And don’t forget what’s under your feet: this area has several intriguing subterranean attractions, with boat tours at Speedwell Cavern (10 minutes) and a showcave at Blue John Cavern (15 minutes). Poole’s Cavern & Buxton Country Park (15 minutes) is another option, with walks and a two-million-year-old limestone cave.
