Me gustó The facilities here are excellent- they’ve thought of everything! Loved the fact I could use a microwave in the very well-stocked kitchen. The guests’ lounge with a large TV, dining table, comfy sofas was lovely. Lots of information gathered together about what to do in the local area made an interesting read.
It was easy to check in and each pitch had its own water connection and waste outlet /drain. I liked how they were enclosed with shrubs and railway sleepers so it gave an air of privacy.
Great WiFi. Everywhere clean. Beautifully tended flower tubs and shrubs.
The staff on duty were lovely too.

No me gustó It was hard to ignore the road noise, especially during the day.

Me gustó Toilets and showers are modern and clean, with loads of room. Really appreciated the campers kitchen with kettle, toaster and microwave and the lounge would be great in poor weather.

The view from our pitch was mixed - beautiful on one side and the wall of the facilities block on the other.

It was a snug pitch next to the other camper van, on hard standing with lots of grass nearby - it did say it was small on the website so fair enough.

Great meal at The Church Inn in nearby Chelmorton. Highly recommend. And a short drive to the ice cream farm nearby for fantastic ice cream.

No me gustó Right next to the toilet block which was ok with only 2 Campervan pitches taken. However, if the other 3 pitches were in use, I think they would end up walking right through your pitch to get to the building, which would put me off staying when busy.

Road noise

Our electric cable had to go straight across the next door campervan pitch due to the location of the EHU plug on the toilet block wall. Luckily they were very nice about it, but felt a bit awkward - and a massive trip hazard if other pitches needed to walk past to the facilities.

Me gustó Probably the best amenities that I have had in about 25 years of camping.
I honestly can't fault the place.
Our pitch number 17 had amazing views and a brilliant sunset.
We also watched in the evening the local farmer collecting and bailing his hay.
When they finished for the night we got a wave as they drove past.

Me gustó It was clean, quiet, well signed and communicated. Also the views are absolutely incredible. I watched the sunset from my campervan and it was perfect

No me gustó It wasn’t stated in advance that dogs aren’t allowed in the toilets which is not ideal if travelling on your own on a hot day.

Me gustó Very clean and tidy facilities.

No me gustó The hard standing pitch is very untidy, with large hardcore, which is uncomfortable to walk on and small grit which you walk into your van. Not very comfortable if you want to sit outside, you have to sit in front of the van. It really does need to be tarmacked.
There are security cameras across the site, but there are no barriers to stop anyone from entering, especially through the night.
Most sites have an automatic gate which opens from your registration number, maybe something for the owners to think about.
I understand that the owners want to give you privacy however on arrival a simple hello when you arrive would have been nice. We stayed for 4 nights and didn't see anyone from the management.
Wifi, or lack of. You are able to connect to the sites WiFi but the signal is very poor, couldn't connect to Amazon or Ebay ect.
The biggest issue is the Main road which runs right behind where the caravan was pitched. If you like being woken up at 6am every morning with large HGV wagons and roaring motorbikes then your in the right spot. The noise continues throughout the day until late into the evening.
I would Not recommend this site to anyone who's looking for a quiet stay.

We use hardcore on our pitches to enable guests to use an awning if they'd like to and as we are open all year round grass pitches would not be suitable in the winter months. We do have an office in the facilities building which the admin staff are usually there during working hours and also our maintenance staff are around and about in the morning if needed. We are also currently updating our WIFI so hopefully guests won't have issues going forward. Unfortunately the road can be an issue for some guests however we would happily welcome you back if you decide to return to us in the future.
