Me gustó: Uncomplicated check in, all went very well. I never found the showers, but anyhow, we had the one in our motorhome.

Me gustó: Really helpful staff, easy booking in system, large pitch, easy to use hook up, clean toilets. Dogs allowed on the lead.

This year we have had a lot of beautiful birds including geese and swans enjoying living besides our naturally spring fed lakes and every year we can't wait to see them on site and the little baby goslings that pop up too. This year in particular we have had lots of geese joining us for the summer season and completely appreciate that they do leave behind some evidence they have been there. This is usually at its most visible during the high end of the summer months and this year the birds have started walking further over to our campsite due to some of our campers choosing to feed the birds from their pitches which will attract the geese and result in a higher amount of poo on the grass. We would kindly ask that all of our campers refrain from feeding the birds for this reason. With regards to activities for younger kids we have our Disc & Football Golf activity which is available for all years 4 and above - please feel free to ask our team about this on your next visit as we'd be happy to explain more about this awesome family friendly activity! Me gustó: Everything! This is a great site with spacious, flat pitches and easy access to water, toilets and electric hook-up and other essentials (such as waste/toilet disposal, washing up facilities with hot water!) The 'campers only' toilets are in a Portakabin, but are clean and well serviced. The showers and more toilets are over in the main centre building. These were always clean, and the water for the shower was refreshingly hot! We used them before 9 a.m. and after 8 p.m. and they were always clean, easily accessible and quiet. (I can only assume that previous negative reviews have been when the water sports participants have been in) The site is next to a ski lake, and there is plenty to do for kids and adults alike. We did the disc/football golf and loved it, and then a lovely nature walk around the lake. We will use the aqua inflatables next time - they looked fun - knowing we can hire wetsuits is helpful too. The staff are all friendly and helpful - notably the Reception team. I'll not name names here, but will be writing to the centre to say what a pleasure it was to deal with them. It's a peaceful site, and is good for vans and tents alike. Traffic on a minor road is audible sometimes at night but isn't really an issue (the dawn chorus is louder), and you wouldn't hear it in a van. There's a Lidl nearby, a Sainsbury's about 5 mins away in Kempston, and a couple of chain restaurants down the road as alternatives to the onsite cafe/restaurant (we didn't use these, so can't comment). Perfect as a stopover if travelling North/South or East/West (and vice-versa) - and worth the 15 minute detour from the motorway.

No me gustó: Disappointed with cleanliness of bathrooms and site shower block is very outdated. Park and site did feel like it needed updating.

Me gustó: Large pitch. Nice and flat. Lovely staff- very friendly and helpful. We didn’t do any of the water sports but if that’s your thing it looked well- organised with an event on the Saturday and lots of families looking like they were having a great time.

No me gustó: Campsite toilet facilities are not nice. There is insufficient toilets for a busy weekend. Maybe not so bad when it’s less full. They weren’t cleaned for long periods and both evenings ran out of toilet paper, bins overflowing and remained that way until midday the next day. To be fair to staff when I reported it they dealt with it quickly. Only 1 private shower in the main building block. No showers in campsite block

Me gustó: First time camping and we struck gold with Box End. We’re hoping to go back in 2 weeks! Stunning location, the most friendly staff and such an array of activities to suit everyone. If you have teenagers in tow, who are reluctant to be seen dead with you, this is the place for you! We totally found our peace here, as a family.

No me gustó: Before coming here, I read a few neg reviews about the showers, and yes, they could be better (I believe they’re modernising soon) but honestly, everything else more than made up for it. The showers are hot, great power, clean. Personally, they were fine for us.
