Lovely quiet site, beautiful area

Toilet block could do with a revamp, a bit dated but lovely and clean.

The warden was a star, helping us with the set up of our motorhome and telling us where we could go on foot. The site was clean and tidy and the views nearby were stunning. We will be returning.

The shower block was very dated and limited and would definitely not be suitable during busier times.

Absolutely lovely site on the edge of Ovingham village. My son and I were greeted by Gordon the warden, who guided us in and chatted through the facilities. The toilets are a little dated but clean. Sure was lovely and quiet, just what I was looking for for the 1 night stay. The White Swan in Ovingham was recommended for dinner and it didn’t disappoint. Chose this site for its ease to get to from Matfen Go Ape. Would definitely return.

Great pitch facilities and good hard standing surface. Good location for Newcastle City Centre, Beamish Museum and other towns. Within walking distance from village with pub. Very good welcome from man on reception.

Very dated toilet/ shower block. Although it was kept clean there was only one shower in men’s and one in women’s, which is definitely not enough for the size of the camping ground. Also only one small basin in each. Washing up facilities were not usable as they looked like they had never been cleaned.

Had a fantastic long weekend stay, staff very lovely and nothing is any trouble. Lovely quiet site with plenty of area to walk the dogs around at night etc. Facilities are clean, tidy and the best bit it's hot water is hot 👏 we will definitely return in the future 😀

Location. Site warden was brilliant, very informative and generally a great guy. We went for Great North Run and he gave us travel advice too.
I would definitely return to the site as it’s an ideal base for exploring the area.
