What customers say

Spacious, neat stands in a lovely, quiet spot. Gordon the warden's a legend – super friendly and helpful. Site’s had a big upgrade with new ablutions, but some older bits are still there. More upgrades planned. Great for accessing villages, the Tyne and transport.

This appears to be a up and coming site they are currently upgrading Thier toilet/shower block.
We have already recommended this site to other family members all whom use campers, caravans & tents we will be returning.

    Disliked:

I took my grandsons for a wonderful around the site, they were on their bikes.we did avoid the private members only area where the sign stated it however we did enter the what appears to a new area for static caravans with rather afew for sale. I am interested in buying a static however I was put off by a gentleman in his caravan telling me kids weren't allowed in that area, I explained we were only walking through back to our pitch but I found him extremely rude. He had the cheek saying children couldn't be on bikes or play (again we were passing through From the old toilet block)

I booked a 3 day electric pitch for me and my 2 boys. The pitches are well kept with enough space for a large 9 man tent and a vehicle. Toilets are new and very clean and looked after. The park warden (Gordon the Wardon) was very friendly and helpful. Many thanks. The site itself if very safe with great views and family friendly.

There is routes along the Tyne river just outside the park. Takes you direct onto the NC 72 route to Newcastle or to Carlisle. Try and find the public orchard. Free apples to pick. Only take what you need.

There is also a few nice pubs just 10mins walk away.

Lovely quiet spot in a convenient area08/25/2026

Beautiful, quiet at night, away from the roads, convenient, friendly caretaker, green, trees, showers, car by pitches.

    Disliked:

No WiFi, no recycling near tents/toilet block. Could do with a chair/bench outside the shower stall, more hooks or a towel rail in the showers. As there's no where to put clothes/towel, etc while showering.

    Great location
    Clean toilets and showers
Friendly groundskeeper (although we didnt see anyone for the first two days)
Great spaces for camping, generally flat pitches available.
    Secure (barrier for entry)
Excellent price for non EHU grass pitch

    Disliked:

Shower cubicles had no space to get changed - you just have to stand in the wet shower tray and try and get dressed.

Only two toilets in M / F for the whole of the campsite . Didn't had a problem but if it was busier it could be

Noone around for several days when we arrived, never anyone in reception or answering the warden phone

There was no washing machine in the laundry...

Other campers smoking and dropping fag-ends all over the camping pitches.

Nowhere to refreeze icepacks, ultimately we left two nights early as we couldn't store food anymore. Looking back, it wasn't mentioned on the pitchup site, so my mistake thinking there would be this facility, but would be good to provide this if you have campers.

Loved the site's position, near the excellent path along the Tyne.
Many nice pubs that were handy for a glass of wine.
Gordon the warden was helpful and friendly.
Very quiet and peaceful where we were situated.

    Disliked:

Not enough toilets, had to queue at weekend.
Very uneven ground at toilet block(I think this is going to be sorted soon)
Expected more visually as Ord House (same owners) is so pretty. It's a work in progress so look forward to seeing the finished result.

One of the nicest places we've stayed at. From the minute we arrived being met by Gordon we had an amazing time. Gordon was great, so nice to see and hear someone so helpful and bubbly. A great member of staff to have as yr fist experience of the site. All around the look of the place and surrounding areas were great. Other campers there were very respectful and no loud noise from anyone. Kids playing happily all over n9ne of them rude or naughty. I had a slight slope on my pitch but didnt make any difference to the night and day we were there. Would definitely stay again.
