The pitches were good, each with a garden table and chairs. Gordon the site Manager was very helpful. This site is very much a site gradually being upgraded, mostly concentrating on Holiday Units at the moment, so do not expect too much on the touring side of things. Would not recommend at the present time, but given time it will be good I am sure.

Easily the toilet block, it is very old with just one toilet and shower in the Ladies and Mens, not very nice either.
Not sure what the plans are for the future, but a new Shower/Toilet block is badly needed.

As stated in other comments the toilet block was very dated, but clean. We had our own facilities, so it was no issue for us personally.

What a lovely site. Warden is really helpful and friendly, what a great guy. We have been made to feel so welcome. The site is really smart and tidy. I like how open the site layout is. Pitches are huge and I really like the grass areas in between each pitch with a picnic bench. The fully serviced aspect of the pitches is fantastic. So convenient. Another fantastic touch is the laundry area, there is a washer and dryer free to use! This has been amazing when staying here with a toddler.

Facilities are a bit poor. There are two toilets and a shower for females and the same for males. This is fine when the site isn’t busy but unfortunately it’s also very cold in there due to no roof insulation or appropriate heating, so we haven’t been brave enough to shower in there. Despite this, they are lovely and clean

The location is perfect. There’s an 11 mile path for walking or cycling that takes you in to Newcastle.

The staff are so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The manager even pumped up our caravan tyres, as he noticed they were a little deflated.

We had a large, fully serviced pitch, plus a picnic table.

A field to let the dog have a run in too.

Our son had a competition at Close House Golf club, so this was super handy for that, just a mile down the road.

Plus a pub, with good food not far away either!

Although we loved this site and there is still a lot of development, it was great.

Nice tidy site with spacious plots. Very welcoming informative site manager. Fairly clean standard in toilet block. Near Ovingham village. Nice to hear the hooting owls at night. Quiet site.

Poor standard of washing facilities. Only ONE very dated shower with poor water flow. No TV reception or WiFi signal.
VERY EXPENSIVE at £38.50 for what you get.

We liked the site, it was just what we needed for a night, to break our long journey home, the site warden couldn’t have been more helpful, it was very much appreciated. Once the site is finished it will be really remarkable, very appealing on the eye, they are working so hard.

Warden is a lovely bloke and you can see he is a grafter, The site is still being developed and will be even better next year, Big large pitch.

Toilet and shower needs attention and updating but that would not stop me from coming back which I hope to do just that next year !
