  • Well-kept Wiltshire site 10 minutes’ walk from Lacock village centre
  • A half-hour drive to Bath; 45 minutes to Stonehenge and Longleat
  • Dog-friendly pitches with a playground and dedicated ball games area
What’s on your wishlist for a Wiltshire outdoor break? A peaceful location? Easy access from a main road? A village close by so you can easily walk to a pub and shop? Somewhere family friendly that also accepts dogs? If you said ‘yes’ to any – or indeed all – of the above, you’ll most likely be rather taken with Piccadilly Caravan Park, in a rural spot 10 minutes’ walk from the National Trust village of Lacock. That handy position means you’ll have several lovely pubs and independent shops close by. As well as being handily within reach of all that, the park is only a little way off the A350, putting it in a good position for getting out and about to explore the rest of what Wiltshire (and beyond) has to offer. Day trips to Bath and Longleat are easily doable in less than 45 minutes’ drive, and there are all sorts of walks and bike rides to be enjoyed locally. Around the site’s well-kept grounds are hedges for privacy and a good collection of facilities, including picnic areas, a small playground and a designated games field where the kids can have a run around. Dogs, too, have a dedicated exercise area where they can stretch their paws properly. Showers, toilets, a washing-up area, a launderette and wifi are also part of the picture, and the team here prides itself on keeping the facilities clean and the grounds in excellent shape.

Liked Clean and nicely landscaped site. Very quiet site. Liked being given the pitch number the day before so no need to go to reception to book in. Just off of a main A road so no narrow lanes to navigate.
Relaxing break and will be going back again.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Well maintained site. New facilities.

Disliked Narrow pitches.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're delighted to hear that you found the park well maintained and that you enjoyed our new facilities.

We also appreciate your feedback regarding the pitch sizes. Some pitches are larger than others, but as we've taken on an existing, well-established park, we have to work within the original layout of the site. While this can mean that some pitches feel narrower than others, we do our best to make the most of the space available and continue improving the park wherever possible.

Thank you again for your comments, and we hope to welcome you back to Piccadilly Caravan Park in the future.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Friendly owners, clean toilets and showers, location, small, easy check in and good communication

Disliked My pitch was under trees, things dropped on roof in Night, lots of bird poo on caravan and car. Noise all day from some sort of piling, very busy road during day with tractors and large Lorries, quiet at night though

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re really pleased to hear you found us friendly, enjoyed the easy check-in process and communication, and appreciated the cleanliness of our facilities and location.

We’re sorry to hear your pitch being under the trees wasn’t ideal for you. As a countryside site, some pitches are more sheltered and surrounded by nature, which can occasionally mean visiting wildlife overhead! We’re always happy to help with pitch preferences where possible if mentioned at the time of booking.

We also appreciate your comments regarding the daytime noise. Unfortunately, occasional nearby agricultural or local works are outside of our control, although we’re glad to hear you found the site peaceful at night.

We do hope to welcome you back again in the future.

Lovely stay, close to Lacock which was an easy walk/cycle ride away.

Electric hardstanding touring pitch

Liked Quiet site, all the amenities you need. We met the owner who came round to see us once we were established on our pitch. I like having the plot allocated in advance, saves rushing to get there for 1.00 to choose a pitch.

Disliked Wifi was there but the signal wasn't great so we used our phones.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovely review. We’re so pleased to hear you enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere, facilities, and friendly welcome during your stay.

It’s great to know you found the pre-allocated pitch helpful too – we know it takes the stress out of arriving and avoids the rush to choose a spot.

Thank you also for your feedback regarding the WiFi, usually the WiFi is good across the site.

We hope to welcome you back to Piccadilly again soon!

Local attractions

As well as centuries-old traditional pubs and several jewellery or design shops, Lacock is home to a beautifully restored tithe barn dating from c.1230. On the outskirts of this gorgeous National Trust-owned village is an 800-year-old abbey that’s had starring roles in both Downton Abbey and the Harry Potter films; the Fox Talbot photography museum is set in the abbey grounds. Other big-hitting attractions in this corner of Wiltshire include the magical Avebury Stone Circles, which link to a mysterious man-made mound at Silbury Hill (both half an hour’s drive). From there, you can continue the prehistoric theme with a visit to spectacular Stonehenge (45 minutes) and its interactive visitor centre. Coming more up to date, Caen Hill Locks (20 minutes) on the Kennet and Avon Canal comprise 29 locks rising 237 feet over two miles and were designed by engineer John Rennie in 1810. There are golf courses and events galore held at Bowood House and Gardens (15 minutes’ drive), while picture-perfect Castle Combe (20 minutes) has repeatedly been voted one of the prettiest villages in the UK.
