  • Well-kept Wiltshire site 10 minutes’ walk from Lacock village centre
  • A half-hour drive to Bath; 45 minutes to Stonehenge and Longleat
  • Dog-friendly pitches with a playground and dedicated ball games area
What’s on your wishlist for a Wiltshire outdoor break? A peaceful location? Easy access from a main road? A village close by so you can easily walk to a pub and shop? Somewhere family friendly that also accepts dogs? If you said ‘yes’ to any – or indeed all – of the above, you’ll most likely be rather taken with Piccadilly Caravan Park, in a rural spot 10 minutes’ walk from the National Trust village of Lacock. That handy position means you’ll have several lovely pubs and independent shops close by. As well as being handily within reach of all that, the park is only a little way off the A350, putting it in a good position for getting out and about to explore the rest of what Wiltshire (and beyond) has to offer. Day trips to Bath and Longleat are easily doable in less than 45 minutes’ drive, and there are all sorts of walks and bike rides to be enjoyed locally. Around the site’s well-kept grounds are hedges for privacy and a good collection of facilities, including picnic areas, a small playground and a designated games field where the kids can have a run around. Dogs, too, have a dedicated exercise area where they can stretch their paws properly. Showers, toilets, a washing-up area, a launderette and wifi are also part of the picture, and the team here prides itself on keeping the facilities clean and the grounds in excellent shape.

What customers say

Nice, neat park with big, clean spots & modern ablutions (new showers are great!). Easy walk to lovely Lacock village. Generally quiet, though some road/playground noise and construction niggles noted, usually sorted by management.

Non-electric grass campervan, tent or trailer tent pitch

Liked We were an older family of 4, camping in a tent with no electric.
All aspects of the site were clean, tidy, and well looked after, from the pitches, the washing facilities, playground etc.
Excellent facilities for the price. We made good use on the complimentary shared fridge and freezer in reception.
Excellent wifi.

Liked Really well maintained pitches and facilities.
Friendly staff, easy to walk into Lacock.

Disliked More an observation than a dislike, we were unable to empty our grey water due to the location of the drain) more for caravans than motor homes.

Liked Small family-run site. Modern Toilet/showers

Disliked Long(ish) grass

Maybe could do with an extra hook in each shower cubicle.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed our small family-run site and our modern toilet and shower facilities.

Thank you also for your feedback regarding the grass. At this time of year, it grows incredibly quickly, and while we do our best to keep on top of it with regular mowing, there are occasions when it can get a little longer between cuts than we'd like.

We appreciate your understanding and hope to welcome you back to Piccadilly again soon.

Liked Clean and nicely landscaped site. Very quiet site. Liked being given the pitch number the day before so no need to go to reception to book in. Just off of a main A road so no narrow lanes to navigate.

Local attractions

As well as centuries-old traditional pubs and several jewellery or design shops, Lacock is home to a beautifully restored tithe barn dating from c.1230. On the outskirts of this gorgeous National Trust-owned village is an 800-year-old abbey that’s had starring roles in both Downton Abbey and the Harry Potter films; the Fox Talbot photography museum is set in the abbey grounds. Other big-hitting attractions in this corner of Wiltshire include the magical Avebury Stone Circles, which link to a mysterious man-made mound at Silbury Hill (both half an hour’s drive). From there, you can continue the prehistoric theme with a visit to spectacular Stonehenge (45 minutes) and its interactive visitor centre. Coming more up to date, Caen Hill Locks (20 minutes) on the Kennet and Avon Canal comprise 29 locks rising 237 feet over two miles and were designed by engineer John Rennie in 1810. There are golf courses and events galore held at Bowood House and Gardens (15 minutes’ drive), while picture-perfect Castle Combe (20 minutes) has repeatedly been voted one of the prettiest villages in the UK.
