We're delighted to hear that you and your family enjoy visiting Thorpe Farm. It's wonderful to know the children love the site and that you've found it to have a great family atmosphere. Our animals are a big part of what makes Thorpe Farm special, so we're pleased they've made such a positive impression too!
Thank you also for your feedback regarding our restaurant and takeaway prices, as well as the outdoor facilities. We always strive to offer high-quality, freshly prepared food and locally sourced products where possible, but we appreciate that value for money is important to our guests. We also welcome your suggestions regarding additional activities in the lower field, and we'll certainly take these comments on board as we continue to develop the site.
Thank you again for your feedback, and we look forward to welcoming you and your family back to Thorpe Farm soon.

Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Fantastic cafe and shop area. Super helpful staff
Disliked No mention made of proximity to very noisy A66 where noise levels continued right through the night
On arrival we were told where our pitch was only to find it was full of potholes. This was also nearly as far away from disabled facilities as we could get. We requested close as I am disabled and struggle on uneven ground. When we went back up to speak to them about the state of the pitch someone came down and offered no alternative. It was also stated by them that”oh you asked to be close to disabled facilities” nothing else was said.
We had to pitch close to the road leading through site as this had less potholes.
During our stay there we were encroached upon by other campers who took no notice of the pitch number markers. We had vehicles behind and other campers a matter of feet away. The campers next to us actually had an open fire exceedingly close to our awning . This breaks every health and safety rule in a campsite due to risk of fire.
No on site checks were done with regards to where anyone was pitching close etc by the site manager.
Disabled facilities. These were labelled as use by everyone leaving myself standing outside for ages waiting for the shower and the higher toilet facility. At one point I stood for 45 minutes. There were two supposedly disabled facilities however despite complaining and having been told lots of complaints made the second door was ill fitting and required strength to close and open which I don’t have.
The standard showers apparently were either freezing cold or boiling hot which they had been told about leaving a large amount of people on the site using the supposedly disabled facilities.
Lights on the site at night were virtually non existent and due to large boulders leading to facilities it was very dangerous by to go up there in the dark.
Site rules say dogs should be on lead at all times as ours has always been on every site we have visited since 2012 however some guests obviously were either not told or decided not to adhere to the rules. We have ended up with a puncture in our awning which can not prove it is a dog but does appear to be a tooth mark and there was a bulldog loose on the next pitch.
On coming back after a day out we found the road area leading to our pitch to be covered in camp chairs and with a hose leading over the road to a kids pool. The people saw us and we had to stop but they made no effort to clear the road so my husband had to get out and move them.
We would not be looking to visit this site ever again.

Would return, loved the site overall but will need to bring earplugs
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Loved the site, beautiful dog walk, dog friendly restaurant/cafe, gift shop fabulous, farm great for my 2 year old, he loved the friendly goats and donkey.
Disliked The sound is very loud from road where tents are pitched. - even at night
The tent pitches are on a hill, our beds ended up at bottom of tent and unable to sit on chairs comfortably in tent due to being on hill too

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.
We're delighted to hear how much you enjoyed your stay, especially our dog walk, dog-friendly café and restaurant, farm shop, and animal paddocks. It's lovely to know your 2-year-old enjoyed meeting our friendly goats and donkey!
We also appreciate your honest feedback regarding the tent pitches. Being located alongside the A66, road noise can be noticeable at times, particularly in the camping area, and we understand this may affect some guests, especially overnight. We also recognise that some of our grass pitches have a natural slope, which can make camping a little more challenging depending on your setup.
We're pleased that, despite these issues, you had such an enjoyable stay and would visit again and recommend us to others. That means a great deal to the team. Thank you for your valuable feedback, and we look forward to welcoming you and your family back to Thorpe Farm in the future.
Good level pitches, really friendly staff and quality food products
Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch
Liked Very friendly staff, clean and well laid out site. Good choice of food products in farm shop. Good quality. Good on site cafe. Good size pitches. Other reviews mention road noise and whilst this is evident, we were sited very close to road and did not affect stay.
Disliked Wi-Fi quite poor and TV reception not great.

Thank you as well for your feedback regarding the Wi-Fi and TV reception. Wi-Fi is currently available within The Courtyard building, although we do not currently have Wi-Fi coverage out to the pitches. It is something we are actively looking into for our guests moving forward.

A well spaced out site with adequate facilities
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked The site was quiet while we were there. The bathroom facilities were very good. We couldn’t use the lounge as we had dogs with us, but it looked very comfy.
Nice area to walk the dogs, behind the animal pens.
Disliked We knew the road was close, and it was noisy. A pair of earplugs sorted out the noise.

Nice big pitch and clearly marked…
Electric optional grass pitch
Liked Nice big pitch and clearly marked out, good toilet and shower facilties. Huge open space for plenty of ball games etc and a play park which my kids enjoyed. The shop on camp was well stocked and seemed a reasonable price. Attached to the site was a few holdings of animals which was a lovely walk and an even longer trail which we personally didn't do. Although lots of people mention road noise, it didn't affect our stay.
Disliked Could get quite noisy on a night from what seemed like a big groups of permanently pitched tents. The showers at times were unbearable hot, to the point you couldn't put young children under the water. Proximity to the main road and only having a single barrier stopping children from having access was unsettling, probably more so for older children who had less supervision.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave us such a detailed review.
We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and made the most of the spacious pitch, our facilities, play park, animal paddocks, and well-stocked Farm Shop. It's also great to hear that the road noise didn't impact your visit.
We appreciate your feedback regarding the noise from other guests during the evening. We ask all visitors to be considerate of others and observe our quiet hours, and we'll continue to monitor this to help ensure everyone enjoys a peaceful stay.
Thank you also for bringing the shower temperature to our attention. We have checked the showers following your feedback and made the necessary adjustments to ensure they are operating at a comfortable temperature for all guests, including families with young children.
We understand your concerns regarding the proximity of the camping area to the A66. While there is a safety barrier and walls in place, we appreciate that parents may feel cautious, and we value your feedback.
We're pleased that overall you had an enjoyable stay and hope to welcome you and your family back to Thorpe Farm again soon.
The staff were very welcoming and…
Electric optional hardstanding touring pitch
Liked The staff were very welcoming and friendly, the pitches were spacious.
The shop was well stocked and of a reasonable price.
Disliked Showers were the push button type and lasted about 10 seconds so constant button pushing was needed, once hot they were far too hot with no temperature control.
The hard standing pitches were great but the stones were very large and so shoes were a necessity in the awning.
Regular smells of someone smoking weed.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback. We’re really pleased to hear you found our team welcoming and friendly, enjoyed the spacious pitches, and appreciated the well-stocked shop and reasonable prices.
We’re sorry to hear some aspects of your stay didn’t meet expectations. We understand the push-button showers can be frustrating, and we appreciate your comments regarding both the timing and temperature control — this is something we will review with our maintenance team. We also appreciate your feedback regarding the hardstanding pitch stones and will take this into consideration for future improvements.
We take reports of inappropriate behaviour, including smoking on site, very seriously. We encourage guests to report this to the team during their stay so we can investigate and address it promptly.
Thank you again for taking the time to leave your review, and we do hope to welcome you back again in the future.
