Liked open field, could pitch wherever we liked, friendly owners who just checked on us once on arrival. Good shower block and toilets. Plenty of space for bin waste etc. Open fires and BBQs allowed
Disliked nothing

Primitive grass campervan or tent campsite
Liked Big open spaces. Pitch anywhere we like.
Open fires allowed and wood for sale.
It’s a shame that I have so many dislikes as the site is generally a nice field with lots of level ground.
Disliked The owners seem a bit new to it all.
We were lured by the farm experience. I was looking forwards to the kids seeing the animals. It is advertised as a farm campsite and it is a farm but not really a farm that the kids can see the animals.
The advertised farm made burgers and sausages are available if you can locate the owners. Or if they rock up at your tent at 10 in the evening on their quad bike or tractor, waking the children and obviously after having had a few drinks..
You get what you pay for, it was only £25 a night but we won’t come again. The owners should make them selves available rather than careering around at night when the children are trying to sleep... really spoiled it for us unfortunately.
Toilets had long queues and were very busy. Not particularly clean. The washing up area (one sink) has an overspill so I have no idea what ends upon the floor.

From the manager: We are glad that this family like our site . There is only two of us running a working farm and a campsite and bank holidays attract a lot of people . We probably shouldn’t have driven round late seeing people after a long day on the farm and the camp site but we always try to see everyone to make sure that they are happy and to see if they need anything . This is clearly a mistake. Most people think it’s great but for us it’s absolutely exhausting. This is a new site and so we have decided following this review that clearly our efforts to make it personal and caring are foolish and we apologise for disturbing the children. Most visitors say that they never see the camp site owners and that they enjoy our interaction but quite frankly we can see that visiting folk in the evenings is irritating for them and so from now on we won’t bother . Thank you for pointing this out to us . We appreciate your comments and we will stay in and relax in the evenings in front of the TV from now on allowing campers to do their own thing . Thanks again for your feed back . We get to sit down !!
