Lovely owners, clean and at night was very peaceful.

Aug 2026

Liked Lovely campsite and we really enjoyed our stay. Met one owner who was attentive and friendly. Facilities - showers were lovely and clean, with everything you need — shelves, hooks and even a heater for the colder months. Picnic area with lovely views. Fire pit which I imagine in the winter will be great fun. Washing up area clean, notice board with local into very handy. There’s also a lovely woodland walk on site, which was perfect for a wander. Being adults-only was a refreshing change too. The animals on site were an added bonus — the goats and horse were so cute!

Disliked We did have a lovely stay, but I feel I must mention the work going on. As we were only there for one night, the work taking place on site didn't really affect us. There was a dumper truck and a van bringing in gravel, fencing and quite a bit of activity around the site. Had we been staying for several nights, and this was ongoing every day, I think I may have been a little disappointed, so it might be worth warning visitors if the work is going to be ongoing for a while. I don't think it stated it was a 'working farm' maybe needs adding? It didn't cause us too much of an issue as we were checking out that morning, but it's something longer-stay visitors might want to be aware of. Overall, though, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return.

Lovely little site, planning on returning when weather is better.

Oct 2026

Liked Lovely setting on a working farm. Absolutely beautiful views. We visited during a storm but can imagine it's lovely sitting out on the picnic benches in the summer. Caravans are a little dated but well equipped and clean. The gas fire wasn't working but an electric heater was provided, and there is adequate heating in the bedrooms. Lovely little extra surprise was the half dozen freshly laid eggs on arrival.

Disliked The weather 😂 but completely out of your hands!! A hairdryer would have been helpful or a little note added to the 'what to bring' where it tells your to bring your own towels.

Friendly staff, shame toilets and kitchen area are so tired.

Dec 2024

Liked Have been on this site before was a bit apprehensive about returning but the (I think new) young couple looking after it are lovely. Very understanding when we arrived two hours past the time I said we'd arrive. Due to road closures, arriving at 11pm. Weather has been horrendous and they let us park on the side road rather then the field (this time off year not busy so not a problem for them or us). Offer a doggy day care service (didn't use it but thought this is a great idea!) Site is open all year. Because we arrived so late they offered us a free night next time we book. Fantastic, and a very nice gesture.

Disliked The toilets, shower rooms and kitchen area are very old and tired. No hot water in the kitchen area. Quite pricy for out of season (£25 with electric per night) Would really benefit from some hard standing pitches if opening all year round.

Nice place for campsite on creek. Dog friendly site.

Mar 2023

Liked View over creek and listening to the sea was lovely. Dog friendly. Don't be concerned by the recycling centre right next door we had no issues at all. Facilities dated and cold (think council baths rather than posh campsite) but always clean. Nice short walk along creek to beach.

Disliked Chose nights and pitch needed from options available of pitchup.com. In comments I added 'a waterfront view would be lovely'. When partner checked in he was charged an extra £10 for a premium pitch. I personally wouldn't have bothered as this took us up to £77 for a two night stay with electric. I've got a couple of lovely sites I usually stay at and pay £55 with far better modern facilities but maybe not on par with views.

Quiet, clean site friendly staff will definitely be using again.

Oct 2022

Liked Checking in they come out to you in your vehicle, then take you to your spot, tell you where everything is. All staff were friendly. Plenty of toilets and shower block was lovely and warm no matter what time of day or night used! For size of park every time I went in they were clean. Nice large pitches, every electric point had fresh water taps. Lovely dog walking area. Kids play park and a caged football area short distance away from pitches all looked great for young ones. Small handy shop selling the essentials. As a solo female traveller felt very safe.

Lovely pop-up campsite on working farm.

Aug 2022

Liked Lovely pop-up campsite - great value for money! The owner was very friendly and accommodating. We opted for the first field nearer toilets and showers. Toilets are an outbuilding made of breeze blocks but very clean. Always had soap, spray and toilet roll. The second field is huge. WiFi wasn't great but I didn't want to be sat on my phone all weekend so not a problem for me. Views outstanding.

Disliked Nothing.

Nice looked after site with flat grass pitches.

Jul 2022

Liked Lovely site, great communication re directions and set up when find pitch. Pitches well posted, nice and flat and well looked after. Contactless check in good.

Disliked Bit of a walk to the toilet facilities, showers and toilets very basic but were clean when I used them. As site got full had to queue for showers. Facilities are mixed for male/female. Not enough sinks to brush teeth etc in morning. People using the washing up sink outside to brush teeth and get wash, not ideal. Pitches a fair size but felt very compact! When we stayed a large group of friends/family were camping together so centre of field was a play ground even though there is a playground on site the kids didn't seem to use it. Footballs under campervan, drones hovering over you for half of night bit off putting. Also let their dog roam free and poo everywhere. If staying again would ask if there is an adult only bit.

From the manager: Thank you for your review. The facilities are at the front of the campsite to reduce the noise and artificial light onsite so that customers can enjoy the night skies and peaceful location. There are two toilet/shower blocks open all weekend and also midweek when the main one is being cleaned, the second one has separate mens and womens facilities, the main one has mixed facilities which work well for young families. Our site rules are emailed to everyone as part of the check in process requesting ball games are not played between the pitches as this sometimes upsets other campers. We have added two new games fields and a brand new playground so there are plenty of places to play away from pitches. The site rules ask owners to keep their dogs on leads and to pick up their mess. There is an enclosed dog exercising field provided where dogs can be off lead away from the campsite. We live on site and customers are given our contact number at check in so they can call us if they have any issues or feel their fellow campers are not being courteous. Please feel free to do this next time you visit.

Very dissatisfied.

Jul 2022

Liked Quite site.

Disliked The campervan and grass pitch is on a layby on the road to the tent field. Road planeings chucked down, not level and no room for an awning even though booking said price included awning. Only two showers that have nowhere to hang your clothes. Literally a sink shoved in the tent field for washing pots. The campsite seems to be an afterthought of how to make extra money on the lake business. Shame because could be really nice if put better facilities and did only tents in the field. Would be nice if campers got a discount for using lake.

From the manager: We in fact have 5 toilets and a urinal, and 4 showers with plenty of hooks to hang your clothes. Campers also do receive a discount for swimming in the lake.
