Hexham, Northumberland, England
Rooftop or tent box primitive mixed campsite
Liked A fantastic little site set in a quiet location just outside Hexham. Incredibly friendly and helpful owners, lots of space and choice of pitches. Loos, showers, a fridge-freezer and washing up sink. Peaceful site with great views of the surrounding countryside.
Disliked Hot water at the washing up sink would have been great.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Fantastic location with stunning views across to Holy Island. Very well maintained pop-up site with portaloos, fresh water, waste water disposal and bins. Many pitches are flat and all pitches were large.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Great little pop up campsite. Camp where you like in a huge field which was well kept. Lovely views and a quiet, countryside setting. One toilet and one shower, both spotlessly clean. Walking distance to pubs and a cafe. It was lovely to sit and listen to all the birds - including curlews, lapwings, redstarts, owls and a heron.
Disliked Nothing, it was great.

Primitive cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite
Liked This campsite is in a great location with amazing views across the local countryside. The owners were really friendly and helpful, and provided wood-fired pizzas and a gin bar in the evening. The site is next to an old railway track which is great for cycling and walking.
