Liked The tranquility and the lake for fishing

Disliked Had to pay extra to use air conditioning in caravan Geese poo all over the grass area (but it was nice to see them wondering about)

From the manager: We are pleased that you enjoyed the lake, fishing and the wild geese. We are always honoured to host them for the three months that they stay with us each year. It really is a compliment that they choose our lake as a safe and suitable place to raise their young families on and we really miss them when they leave us each year. Unfortunately though, wild geese are just like people and if they eat then they need to poo too - at least theirs is just grass which washes easily away and it really is a small inconvenience for the great pleasure that they bring to so many people 😊 Please correct your statement that you paid extra for air conditioning as your booking did not. Our site rules clearly state that air conditioning units are not included in pitch prices simply because we charge a very competitive and reasonable all in one flat fee pitch price. All of our pitch fees are inclusive of up to 4 people, pets, awnings, water, free heated showers and electricity. The electricity included is a very generous allowance of 16 amps all of which is just £30 per night (in high season too). In order for us to be able to offer this and keep our prices as low as possible for all campers we simply cannot afford to, nor do we wish to include air conditioning units in the all inclusive pitch fee.

Liked The week we stayed it was very quiet and peaceful, the entertainment was enjoyable and not too loud. The swimming pool was enjoyable. The park for the children was well maintained as well as the whole site and the feature Fountain in the lake was very pleasant.

Disliked The only dislike was that we only had one week there.

Liked The site was very quiet and great to switch off from everyday life. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The shop was very well equipped with items. The main shower, toilet and laundry block was clean (only used it for the toilet). Only a 5 minute drive to a full range of stores, restaurants and fuel.

Disliked The pitches are ment to be the same size but the gravel areas are not, we booked a hard standing with awning, but there wasn’t any room for the awning and the car. The road/pathways had potholes and due to the weather of this time of year, they were covered with puddles and mud. This was due to the amount of rain and having cars parked on the grass on the smaller gravel areas. Not my kind of place for the winter and wet months, but it was February.
