Primitive grass tent or RV campsite
Liked Friendly welcome and a nice relaxed site. Bottom field is flatter and has the toilets, second field has fabulous views, but slopes.
Great location for walking into Ashbourne, only negative for me (as a light sleeper) was the racing drivers on the A52 at about 2am!
Would recommend, and would stay again.

Liked Clean and tidy small site. Good facilities, nice big showers.
Kim was very responsive over text.
Nice walk to the pub by the canal.
Disliked Not really a dislike, but a point to note. Were given directions to the bus stop along the main road which was VERY scary. There was actually a back road we discovered on the way back to the site which was much safer!!

Liked Really friendly welcome and probably the best bathroom facilities we have come across! Nice level, decent size pitches and a good stop off location for us on our travels north. A great site.
Disliked I've had to mark it down a couple of stars simply because of the sleep quality. I'm a bit of a light sleeper and our pitch was next to a road where HGVs started travelling past at 5am. Coupled with the aircraft taking off every 5 minutes, it was not a great night for me. Such a shame as a lovely site, and perfect if you're a better sleeper!!

From the manager: Hi Karen, Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a detailed review - and for the 8/10 even though you would not visit again. We’re really glad you enjoyed the welcome, facilities, and found us a good stop-off on your travels. We’re really sorry to hear your sleep wasn’t as good as it should have been. As you noticed, some of our pitches are closer to surrounding roads and we can unfortunately get early morning traffic at times, as well as aircraft activity depending on conditions - something that can affect light sleepers more than others. It’s a real shame this impacted your stay, especially as everything else hit the mark for you. If you do ever pass our way again, please do drop us a note when booking and we’ll always do our best to place you in a quieter pitch away from the road side. We really appreciate your honest feedback and wish you the best for your future travels! Many Thanks, Ellie

Liked This was our second stay here, as we found it was a great site last time! We like the layout of the small site as the pitches allow privacy, although there is also a motorhome area where they are a bit closer together.
We just stayed one night and asked for a pitch on the lower field which was accommodated even though they hadn't received the original request.
Disliked Nothing
