Saint-Jean-de-Couz, Savoie, France
Power optional grass campsite
Liked Beautiful campsite in the shadow of the mountain. Peaceful, excellent facilities, friendly owner, huge pitches. Loved it.
Disliked WiFi only available at the bar/reception area but this is a minor issue - would stay again.

La Morra, Cuneo, Italy
Power optional grass and earth campsite
Liked 4.5 out of 5 but can’t put the half on! Lovely little gem of a campsite, nestled in a vineyard with a gorgeous view of a local town. Hosts were so friendly and welcoming. Just missed the wine tasting but we were able to still sample a glass of the produce of the home vineyard and very nice it was too. Electricity readily available, good facilities although could do with a little update . Would love to go back for more than the one night we were there to explore the area.
Disliked Toilet/showers could do with a little update but this is a minor quibble as the showers were warm and spacious. WiFi only available in one area but again a minor complaint as I preferred my book.

Bracciano, Rome, Italy
Power optional grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Great location next to Bracciano - walkable but uphill so the camping bus was a good option. Easy to catch the train into Rome and cheap, excellent rail service into the city. Local town is pretty with lots of nice eateries. The Lake is beautiful - take water shoes though - and was a great place to cool off. Pitches were large and shaded. Facilities good and always clean. Receptionists really lovely. Free WiFi throughout the camp.
Disliked Had to pay for the shower €0.50 for about 3 minutes so had to be quick!

Lamporecchio, Pistoia, Italy
Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite (medium)
Liked Beautiful setting and stunning views across the hills and valleys. Pools looked very inviting. Excellent facilities - clean and modern.
Disliked Need a swimming hat for the pools which we didn’t have - I understand this is the norm for Italian pools. Wi-Fi only available in one small area and even then it was sporadic.

Pielenhofen, Bavaria, Germany
Power optional grass campsite
Liked Great location on the river, which you could swim in. Pitch was a great size with plenty of room for van, awning and space to sit outside. Electric close to pitch. Free WiFi at bar and reception. Friendly staff. Great beer at shop and cheap! Fresh bread available too. Restaurant/cafe was good. Bike hire (we didn’t take our own) meant we could cycle to Regensburg along the river which was great and the city was beautiful and well worth a visit. Clean toilets and showers with plenty available. A real gem of a campsite, well priced and in a beautiful area.
Disliked Nothing.

Peigney, Haute-Marne, France
Powered cement/asphalt and grass campsite
Liked Nice big pitch with plenty of room for van, awning and space outside the awning. Electric and water right on the pitch. Good shop on site with fresh bread delivery. Close to town (driving) and the site had good facilities for families. Great staff on reception. Toilet and shower facilities were clean but not that many in one block. A short walk to another block and there were massive showers with hairdryers but still not many considering the size of the site. Lovely views from the terrace and also from our pitch.
Disliked Had to pay for Wi-Fi for the pitch but it didn’t work - we did eventually get the €15 back after having to call a support line and asking reception. The pitch had loads of left cigarette butts and rubbish which we had to clear up before setting up camp - would be good for this to have been inspected and cleaned up before pitch allocation. More toilets/showers needed for this advertised 5* site. Expensive and had to pay for everything by card.
