BIPOC-, cannabis- and pet-friendly Mujeres Valley Campground is a 20-acre sustainable campground tucked away in the West Mountains of New Mexico between Zuni Pueblo and Acoma Pueblo.
The campground is surrounded by over 40 acres of land homesteaded by the owners, and is crossed by a maze of walkways outlined by volcanic rocks. The property is dotted with interesting finds like ancient pottery, crystals, and volcanic mounds that reveal spectacular views of the surrounding landscapes.
You can set up among the trees or overlooking a re-wilding pond, and spend days enjoying hikes in the private hills and experiencing the beauty of nature all around you. After exploring, hire a hammock to snooze quietly among the ancient trees, or watch the moon rise on clear nights.
Fresh eggs can be provided by the owners for breakfast, and if you have a craving for a burger, or need some gas before heading back out on the road, Quemado (35 minutes’ drive) is your closest stop, with restaurants and two gas stations.
