  • Peaceful dog-friendly base in the Endless Mountain Region
  • On a pear orchard half an hour’s drive from Merli Sarnoski Park
  • Outdoor movies in the farmhouse backyard and wildlife around the river
Oh Pear Orchards is close to having a negative carbon footprint and zero energy consumption. Not only that, but the pear orchard also produces a wide variety of Asian pears, including but not limited to Olympic giants, Hosui and Bartlett pears. Impressed yet? If not, it’s likely you will be very soon. On fertile ground between two streams, the base is peaceful and has a gorgeous stream occupied by wildlife like beaver, turtles, fish, deer and waterfowl. Wildlife watching is just as fab in the local parks, with creatures like deer, bears, beavers, foxes, turkeys, hawks, rabbits, porcupines and turtles living there. Within less than a 35-minute drive of Oh Pear Orchards are a number of parks with such wildlife, where guests can go hiking, fishing or take part in other outdoor activities. They include the Merli Sarnoski Park, Lackawanna State Park and Salt Springs State Park. Bring your camping chair or sleeping bag for a movie under the stars in the spacious farmhouse backyard. If you have your own mountain bikes, there is a dirt road just up the road. Guests can also get stuck into the paintball park 20 minutes’ drive away or the brewery half an hour’s drive away. While the check-in process at Oh Pear Orchards is mostly about going straight to camp, if the owners are on site, they love to meet and greet willing guests. They’re also on-hand (whenever they are on the campground) to help you.
