Riverside RV Park: Stop here for your reservation and supply needs

General

  • Serene family park with large, shaded and grassy pitches
  • Located inside Dodge City limits, five minutes' drive from the centre
  • Play area, rec and TV rooms, shop and heated restrooms

For Dodge City explores with oodles of space once you come home to rest, mosey on over to Riverside RV Park. This site in south-west Kansas is less than five minutes' drive from the former frontier cow town and has spacious pitches to spread out on… along with big grassy areas for games, a play area and a friendly atmosphere.

While the sheer size of the outdoor space should be more than enough to satisfy, there are rec and TV rooms to snuggle up in if the sun’s not shining. There's a small shop too for provisions aplenty, and a supermarket is a 10-minute walk away. Riverside RV Park's also got the goods when it comes to essential amenities, with heated bathrooms, gas and propane, a laundry room, wifi and chemical disposal available.

The Depot Theatre Company – known as the Broadway on the Prairie – is less than 10 minutes away if you’re up for some cabaret and a play. Or, for kid-friendly days out a short walk away, the slides, lazy rivers and rock pool of Long Branch Lagoon waterpark are within a 20-minute stroll.

To escape the city and get out onto the Kansas plains, you can reach the historic Santa Fe Trail west of town, known as the old pioneer highway between 1821 and 1872, within a 20-minute drive. Keep your eyes on the ground during your wander – you can still see the wagon ruts in some parts of the path.

Roads are not maintained, puddles are large and do not drain we didn't drive through to see how deep they are. There isn't any watersports unless the puddles are the watersports 😔

Bathroom door wouldn't open. A handicapped resident helped me open it. Next morning couldn't open door. Went to truck gas station to use their bathroom. Poor maintenance.

From the manager...

We are sorry you were having trouble. Next time please contact the number that is listed on the door! The restroom locks have been replaced and new ones were put on. AT this time there has not been any other problems we are aware of. Please let us know if you have problems in the future.

Staff responds to email, a rarity in the campground world! Much appreciated to not have to make phone calls. Friendly and provided check in details in advance because we were arriving late, which was really convenient. Level sites, quiet, good price, easy to walk to things to do in town. Bathrooms pretty clean and safe.

Local attractions

Dodge City, known as Queen of the Cow Town, is rich in stuff to do. Want to find out more about the area’s fascinating frontier history? Make a move towards Boot Hill Museum, a five-minute drive or half-hour walk away from the park. You’ll stroll down an Old West street made up of reconstructed buildings like the old Fort Dodge jail, First Union Church and Santa Fe Depot, and might see the occasional gunfight re-enactment too…

The Kansas Teachers Hall of Fame, a former schoolhouse filled with life-size wax sculptures of well-known Americans, from Wyatt Earp to Sitting Bull, sits beside the museum and opens from June to August.

Also accessible in the warmer months is the Home of Stone Museum, with its 1881 furnishings, and Dodge City Raceway Park, a dirt track with a summertime programme of epic racing; both are under a 10-minute drive from the park. Feeling lucky? Getting to Boot Hill Casino takes just over 10 minutes in the car.
