It's free, quick and easy!
- Direct access to a quiet two-kilometre beach
- Canoeing, cycling, hiking and scuba diving nearby
- Restaurant, bar and grocery shop
This park’s fab location facing out over a two kilometre-long fine sandy beach is enough to have you want to hole up here for weeks (the sunsets in themselves are enough of a draw) – but look a little closer and you’ll see that there’s yet more to keep you around for a few weeks more.
A whole heap of outdoorsy stuff is around Camping O Raso to get involved in: nothing is too much trouble for the reception staff, who'll happily recommend all sorts for you to do during your stay, including kayak rental and paddleboarding in Redes, scuba diving in nearby Ares three kilometres away, or wandering around the lively Saturday market in Pontedeume, a 15-minute drive from base. Ares, reachable via a lush walk along the sands, is also home to all sorts of services including cash machines, a post office, supermarkets, shops, restaurants, bars and lively little clubs.
Camping O Raso is sorted for relaxing siteside days: lounge at the beach (directly accessible from the park) or chill out at the bar with tipples and among smashing sea views while the kids let off steam at the playground. A restaurant, takeaway service and grocery shop are all to hand, and evenings at the park are made easy during high season with entertainment for all at the bar.
Friendly dogs are welcome on site (and will be particularly pleased when you tell them that there’s a dog-friendly beach nearby).

Local attractions
This site is surrounded by splendid small beaches and coves, and the 9,000-hectare Fragas do Eume natural park – hailed as Europe’s best-preserved Atlantic forest – is a short drive away too.
O Raso is alongside a two kilometre-long beach for sandy ambles, fishing and sea canoeing. The nearby estuaries of the Ferrol and Betanzos rivers can also be explored on canoe and kayak trips, and the area is crisscrossed by cycle paths both along the coastline and inland.
About eight kilometres from base is the town hall of the all-stone town of Puentedeume, networked by streets and arcades and host to a regular Saturday market where artisans sell locally made handicrafts of leather, wicker and lace.
The city of A Coruña is about 40 minutes’ drive away.
