In the market for a seaside glamping holiday? They don’t come much more seaside than a stay at Kampaoh Tossa de Mar – this fabulously located Costa Brava site has direct access to a sheltered sandy beach on the Catalonian coast.
That beachfront setting means you can get down to the sea whenever you fancy it for a swim, a bit of sunbathing or an activity from the watersports centre (which has paddleboarding, kayaking and banana boats to try out). There are some slopes and steps to get down from the site to the beach but the effort is worth it – but if you don’t feel like it, there’s always the option of staying by the swimming pool, which has a kids’ pool and a bunch of sun loungers from which you can admire the sea views.
With lots of lush vegetation around the site to provide shelter and shade, this is a peaceful place to relax – although there are plenty of activities on site should you need a bit more entertainment. Games options include basketball, beach volleyball and bocce, and you can join in with aquagym or zumba classes to keep your fitness levels up. Various activities for kids and grownups run in the summer months as well.
To keep life nice and simple, there’s a supermarket on site along with a bar/café and a lovely restaurant where you can eat meals on the sea-view terrace. If you do want to head out instead, you can get to Tossa de Mar with a five-minute drive or Lloret de Mar in 15 minutes.

Local attractions
Tossa de Mar (five minutes’ drive) is a good place to start – you can take a walk around the Old Town and up to the castle and Moorish Tower while deciding on which activities you might sign up for. Boat trips, snorkelling adventures and scuba diving are all on offer down at the harbour, or you could choose an off-road tour to explore the scenery away from the coast.
Nearby resorts have more to keep you busy – perhaps you’d like to whizz down the slides at Water World Parc in Lloret de Mar (15 minutes), stroll through the greenery at Jardí Botànic Marimurtra in Blanes (half an hour) or head to Malgrat de Mar (half an hour) to see the dolphins at Marineland or ride the funicular up to Parc del Castell.
Heading inland, it’s about a 45-minute drive to the lovely city of Girona, where you can do a circuit of the city walls, visit the cathedral and stop at art and archaeology museums before finding a corner for a spot of lunch and a drink in the atmospheric Old City.
