Local attractions
If you've come on a hol this close to the Med, we're going to assume you're beachward bound... The regions of Barcelona and Tarragona both have bueno beaches to sunbathe on/swim from, including the 'little paradise' beaches of Cubelles. The closest beach to the park is protected by breakwaters which makes it handy for rod fishing.
Cubelles also has a water park where adventurous souls can tackle waterboarding, kayaking, paddleboarding and more; if this is very much your watery thing, see also the waterslides, tunnels, and, er, bus safari past lions, tigers and bears at Tarragona's Aqualeon Aquatic Park.
Tarragona and Barcelona are 50km away for city day trips and yet another park (dry this time) is at Salou's PortAventura, south of Barcelona and the most visited theme park in Spain.
Also have a potter around the Penedès region, lauded for its vineyards and wineries (hurrah); the beaches and historical sites of Sitges; the festivals and folklore of beautiful Vilanova i la Geltrú; and the seaside tourist village of Roc de Sant Gaietà.
