- Adults-only Native American tipis at the foot of Mount Jabalcon
- Among spectacular scenery of olive groves, lakes and mountains
- Private bathroom, barbecue and picnic table for each tipi
Get set for luxury camping in the Granada area… and in top-notch tipis too. The fully-furnished Native American tents at Casa Bella Teepees are in a prime position for a peaceful romantic break, welcoming grownups only to a spot that's surrounded by olive trees at the foot of Mount Jabalcón and five minutes’ drive from the village of Zújar (which has a good handful of shops, bars, banks and other amenities).
Hosts Alex and Gino are seasoned travellers themselves, and have certainly learnt a few things about what guests will give the thumbs up to. For starters, there’s the sheer size of the teepees, each of which has a generous amount of floor space and its own private bathroom a few steps away. There’s plenty of breathing space outside too, with picnic tables, barbecues and cooking kit already in place for alfresco evenings, and a bar and a 5.5-metre round pool nearby.
The scenery around here is spectacular – all olive groves, lakes and mountains – and the site is surrounded by four natural parks: the Sierra Nevada, Sierra de Baza, Sierra de Castril and Sierra de Cazorla, with the Negratin Reservoir five minutes’ drive away. That outlook doesn’t get any less stunning by night, either, as the dark skies are often lit up with a glittering display of stars.
Hikes and bike rides are both fine ways to get out and see some of that scenery; for something a bit different, have a chat with your friendly hosts, who can help set up days of kayaking, paddleboarding, horse riding and hang gliding, or point you towards a lovely spot for a lake swim.

Local attractions
Looking to immerse yourself in something a little larger than the site's pool? Freshwater swims are five minutes’ drive away at Negratin Reservoir, where you can also hire kayaks and paddleboards or settle in at one of the picnic areas. Bit chilly for your tastes? Try the thermal bathing pool at Balneario de Zújar (five minutes’ drive) instead.
For hikers, there are great trails around Castril, one of the Pueblo Blanco villages 55 minutes away – once you’ve tottered around town, the Castril gorge and Castril River Walkway both come with local recommendations. Some of the area’s finest views are to be had from the top of Mount Jabalcón, 20 minutes away, which looks out over four natural parks. It’s also a popular launch point for hang gliders (handy for those who don’t fancy the trek back down).
Looking further afield, you can stroll onto the set of a spaghetti western at the Oasys MiniHollywood theme park (an hour and a half) or hit Andalusia’s biggest attraction, the Alhambra, with an hour and 15 minutes' drive to Granada.
